DnD 3.5 - 5 Players LFDM - Sunday 4:00PM GMT

Hello Roll20. My group of five friends unfortunately lost our DM due to time constraints. We would still very much like to play together, and so we are hoping that one of you would be willing to DM for our group. We have varying timezones, so we need someone who wouldn't mind starting around 4:00 PM GMT and running a game for a good 3-4 hours each week. We would like a DM who would be more open to book material outside SRD as two of us really like playing some of the other class options. We would prefer the ability to use a point buy instead of rolling and starting level two or three if that is possible (getting a bit tired of level one starts ;P). Above all though, we want someone who will put in the time to have a polished campaign with a heavy amount of RP along with a solid amount of combat (including encounter maps). We don't really care if you wanna do an open world or story, but we don't want to be "on rails". We also like puzzles and riddles. We would like to use either Mumble or Skype to communicate, so no text based sessions please. Lastly, we would like someone who wouldn't mind doing this for the long term, possibly to 10th level and beyond. If you are willing, could you please post in this thread? I will happily answer any questions you have. I look forward to hopefully playing with one of you. Thanks in advance for those that offer. :)
I could be interested, although I don't DM 3.5, I'd be possibly willing to learn the system a bit better if you insisted on it, though if you're happy to switch to AD&D 2nd ed or Pathfinder I can definately help you guys out I reckon.
I wouldn't mind learning about pathfinder since it is apparently very similar to 3.5e, but I will have to ask the group what they think. Thank you for offering so far though,
well lemme know what you guys decide and then we can get in touch, or if you have questions for me you can catch me on skype under "yrael-"
The downside to Pathfinder is the lack of material it has in comparison to 3.5e. But that is is all, really and several changes too, but nothing on the major side. The lack of material for Pathfinder makes me less interested in it :/
I've never found that to be an issue, in what respects do you find that it lacks material, spells, classes, races, feats, or what?
Rob M. said: I've never found that to be an issue, in what respects do you find that it lacks material, spells, classes, races, feats, or what? Mostly all the books that are for 3.5 There is a huge supply of supplemental stuff that a not present in pathfinder. Now i will admit i rarely never really use all the extra stuff, but it's still nice to have ^_^ I still like Pathfinder a lot, But due to nostalgia and all the games i'v had in 3.5e, it's obvious to prefer the sightly older system. The only thing i greatly dislike the most is how pathfinder handles the skill system.
You're complaint about the skill system is something I agree with, I vastly prefer the AD&D skill systems, in terms of extra stuff, I tend to homebrew a lot of the items and monsters anyways so I don't use the the books much for those.
I see you guys are having a nice chat in the thread. ;P Well, I want to warn you Rob, that it might not be feasible for everyone to learn a new system with how busy many of us are with school currently. Donovan, are you interested in DMing or were you just expressing your opinion about pathfinder? If you want to be a player, that might be possible.
We are nice :)

Hey Rob, its gonna be a little to time consuming to learn pathfinder right now for some of the members, so we would like to stick to 3.5e. If it weren't for school, we would be totally cool with switching. So if you are still willing to give 3.5e a shot, we would love that. I can help you out on any of the rules for it. @Mike - Thanks for the offer, but I know at least three of us would want to use classes that aren't in core.
Bump...
