[LFG] D&D 5e - anytime on Wed or Thurs

Hello Everyone, My name is Alex, I've been playing RPGs since I was 5, rping since I was about 11, and playing table top games since I was 15. I'm brand spanking new to roll20 I've been playing 5e since it came out, I have DMed many sessions, but I've never been a player. I'm in the process of writing a table top rpg with a small company (6 of us). And I would like to be a player to better understand the dynamic. I would like to play either a Wizard/Cleric or a Barbarian. I have backstories written out for both that are heavily based in Faerûn, but am willing to retool them for a different setting. While working on the ttrpg I also work communications for an extremely well established premium network, so my schedule is limited to Wed and thurs, time isn't an issue on Wed but I have to be sleeping by midnight EDT on thurs Looking forward with playing with you all, have a good day!
I'm new to roll20 but I'm a D&D fan. I've moved to China where I am literally the only D&D player for hundreds of miles! I'm kind of hoping someone will adopt me for a USA Wednesday game late night EST time. If you're looking for a paladin or a rogue, and don't mind showing me the ropes let me know :) .
That sounds good to me if we can find a GM
Well there were a couple of other new players on the forums. We could rope them all together to make a group of say 4 or 5 of us... As to DM we could always approach it as a round robin deal. We all take a turn in the DM's chair, say mini campaigns of three adventures over three weeks each. The overall narrative could be played out like a plot and subplots or two major plots happening at the same time. Plots may even converge. It's something I've done in short bursts off line. What do you think? I could give the DM's chair a go first but bare in mind I'm new to roll20 and 5e. I really want to make sure that my internet connection is up to the test first, before I DM, since I'd be connecting from China where the whole country is behind a giant firewall. I've played online games of Startship Simulator before, using teamspeak to talk, but a couple of times I got momentarily disconnected with disastrous effects. I want to make sure that doesn't happen, or if it does a 30 second reset doesn't crash or log all the players off.
Hey I'm brand new to dnd and looking for a group that wouldn't be too frustrated with helping me learn! I'm not completely unfamiliar, I've been listening to a lot of 5e podcasts while doing other things and am pretty eager to have a shot at it myself, but not adventurous enough to find a group in my area :/ I'm pretty easy going and willing to have a shot at dm'ing once I'm more familiar with it all. I read through the players handbook and I think I have an idea for an eldritch knight fighter with a lot of wriggle room backstory-wise for any dm to work with if they wanted to. I'm from australia and late edt seems like it would be about mid morning for me which works fine.

I'd be down to try this, plus learning how to make maps and what not would be healpful

Hi guys. I think this is heading in the right direction. What is the correct roll20 "etiquette" to meet up and talk this through and organise characters? I have skype and teamspeak installed? Let me know and I'll try and message/recruit some more people. I have a level 1 mini adventure penciled out in my mind if theres time or an opportunity for that. I've not mapped it out on roll20 or with models or anything but if we were talking anyway we could talk it out "old school" style?
Hi Guys i run a few home brew games now and then. I like to DM but I'd also like to get a chance to play. Maybe we could make a deal? I would DM a few home brews you get everyone used to either D&D 5E or if you are then used to Roll20, in the mean time I could train Lucie Z on how to DM and once we are ok with it all I would buy us all a copy of Storm Kings Thunder or another module and we can all play that. We would screen some people for compatibly to be sure we like playing with them but once we have a solid group we can run a weekly wed/thur night game. sound good to anyone?
Yooo im Dunk (not my real name but it's just what i prefer to go by in general) I can't say i've played much in terms of tabletops. Played one session of 5e (and that group was pretty bad) and a small session of Edge of the empire with 2 good friends, but i watch a lot of campaigns on youtube and such so i have a pretty good grasp of 5e. As for what i want to play. I can honestly play anything. I've only played a Cleric so you'd have to excuse any slip ups i make with any other class but again im super down for any class. Hell i've made 3 other characters i've just not had the chance to play them. I'm also open at any and all times so scheduling isnt an issue.
