Community/Messaging Interface

My issue: I find it extremely cumbersome to track the multiple games and people I'm applying and talking to because this site has very limited... what's the word I'm looking for... stored history? I find myself utilizing other messaging programs to stay in touch when at all possible. For example, I find it extremely nice that all of my personal messages are stored, and that I can follow topics, but on the other hand, I am constantly losing contacts that I make on the forums because their names and comments are never saved and even "followed" posts eventually get deleted. Right now, I am looking for the DM of a campaign that I was applying to but never "invited" to and because he's deleted the recruiting ad, I can't find his campaign or his name and there is no contact history. My suggestion is to create a list of "recent contacts" or even "friends" that will be saved. Anyone who posts in the same thread, or the same game, so on and so forth, could be saved so that players can network more efficiently. Also, the player directory could have a name search function. (If there is already a way to do the things I am asking, please let me know. I've only been here about a month.) And thanks!
If you bring up your own profile, you get a list (bottom left) of all the people you have ever played with. Only you can see it. My list has people that I have played with over 6 months ago, but I'm not sure how far back it goes. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply Mark. I have noticed that feature as well; however, that means I have to actually get into a game to have those people added to my contact list. I'm having the most difficulty staying in touch with players and DMs from games that haven't yet started or are recruiting, and from other forum topics. **The way I've found around this issue is just to PM everyone I want to keep in touch with. It's not an ideal solution, but at least it saves their names and the conversation.
Bump. I've recently started trying to join some new games and this is biting me in the ass again. Anyone moving on this or have other suggestions as to how to track convos? The tools in my profile including topics and replies don't keep an accurate catalogue of my activity at all.
