Need 2 players for a weekly Saturday evening game (7pm Eastern). This game is E8 (lv 8 is maximum level with periodic feats gained thereafter), but characters will be potent in their own right, and optimization is welcomed. Big homebrew game world, big storyline. Character creation: - 25 point buy - Start at level 4 - Any race. If you play a race with RP over 10, subtract the overage from the point buy (ie. an Aasimar would be 20 pt buy). - Any Paizo class and archetype (no 3rd party). Please keep in mind group balance however, an optimized & balanced group will prevent TPK's. - 2 traits, with the option to take a drawback for a 3rd trait. Any paizo traits are allowed. - 6,000 Gold to start with, buy anything you want in the Paizo books at list price. Despite your highly optimized character builds, great RP'ers will earn tangible rewards and will add to the atmosphere. This is a gritty campaign world, definitely not for fluffy players who like to chill at the tavern and play tiddlywinks. Be smart, be quick, or be dead. Setting The game takes place on the northern continent of Alumbia. Following a catastrophic war that left the many kingdoms reeling and rebuilding, many perils abound - wandering monsters are on the rise, bandits, desperate folk just trying to get by. Many communities have leveraged a new "hunter" caste that are employed to fend off aggressive roaming monsters, seemingly altered somehow by some unknown source. The group will begin the story as hired specialists in the city of Westgate (yes, I ripped off that name from FR), a rugged coastal city in the kingdom of Waymarch, set along a windswept mountainous coastline. Despite the best efforts of the local magistrates, Westgate has become somewhat a den of scoundrels, who have taken advantage of hard times and less funding for the military. The local magistrates, while managing relationships with local cartels (similar to the relationship the police had with organized crime in the 30's), are looking for a way to deal with the growing threat of these new "Bio-Monsters", which appear to be mutated forms of typical wildlife, which have spread throughout most of the content. They hinder trade efforts, after all. The first ask of these new specialists will be to locate a nearby den of these denizens, flush them out, and attempt to discover clues as to how and why they are prevalent. Naturally, the players can f--- off and do what they want to do (the world is mature enough for that - I have maps for every place), but gold helps change minds. Backgrounds Players can propose their character backgrounds, I'll advise on world content where applicable. Add to Skype if you're interested. natethegreat976 "Just another day on the job..."
