That's not how it works. It takes more work to be a GM/DM than a player. Therefore, there are more players than GMs. Everyone knows this, except apparently people who make these listings. Why are these listings so bad, you ask? 1.) Unless they're running an obscure system/game, even a lazy GM will hardly ever have trouble finding players on here. Many people who make these listings argue that "the GM doesn't have to look for a group", since one's all ready to go. This is complete BS. A GM will always want to vet the players that come into their game, making sure their schedules mesh, and that the players are a good fit. With a 'looking for GM' listing, you get saddled with whatever random people happened to want to play a game. Sure, the GM could come in and kick people out as they pleased, but if that were the case, why wouldn't they just make their own table anyway? 2.) A lot of these listings clog up the LFG pages. Aside from wasting the participants time, it wastes the casual browser's time. 3.) They're just plain insulting. They're essentially asking, "Hey, come GM this game for a bunch of random people based on our specifications. You may or may not get a say in who stays in the game, or even how the game is run." I mean, I'm not using hyperbole here, that really is was these listings are saying. What GM, who knows what they're doing, would sign up for that? Not suggesting anything be done about this, but it is annoying to see these listings, and I needed to rant about them.
