Tell me a story

I would love for you each send me a quick story about your characters past.  Some event that meant a lot to your character.  If you choose not to provide a story I will make one up and share it with you
Does this story need to take place at a particular time within our characters' past? Like young, teenage, older? Or be a happy or sad memory? I just want to get a feel of what I might think of.
Something in your past that made an impact good or bad.  For instance the time that Talia was told by her parents that they could not afford the horse and lessons, but in the end she still got a horse and lessons. Just needs to be an impactful moment gives me a vision into what drives your character what type of things made an impact.
Okay here are a few different things that I think had an impact on Talia over the course of her life: Like you said, when Talia was young she asked for things (like horse riding lessons, or archery lessons) that she thought might be out of her family's reach, only to be told no, and then eventually have her desire fulfilled with not much of an explanation as to how the decision changed. (now knowing it was Vhoori who ensured she had a fulfilled childhood). When Eldrin was badly injured when Talia was younger. Seeing her father in such a defeated state made Talia feel the need to push herself to explore on her father's behalf to retrieve things that would once again spark his creative flame and spirit. Talia had seen the impact being confined had on her father and does not ever want to stop exploring.  Seeing the note on her pillow left by Wrast. A note of compassion from an assassin? Talia didn't really think such a thing would exist. Wrast has taught Talia through his actions that just because someone may seem evil at first, things may not always be that black and white (reaffirmed by finding out why the Viceroy was doing what he did and speaking to him through the ring, finding out the truth of what all went on with her father Eldrin, and learning more about Vhoori and her family's past.) Later in Talia's life being in the room when her father died. Talia feels as though her non-action/non-attempt to kill her father's attacker is what caused his demise. She feels a deep guilt of not acting quickly enough in that sitaution. It's repercussions shown in when Talia later encountered another Illithid within the Tower of Nightmare and made sure to take strong action against the creature, using one of her only 2 truestrike arrows to ensure that it would die. Talia intends to do all that she can to ensure no one she cares for falls while she is around again.

I was going to try to write out one specific story but I really like what Rachel did here so I hope it's okay if I follow suit. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The first time Elly 'performed', she was the rough equivalent of age 6 in human years.  Oslo had bought her a new pale yellow dress that she had been begging for and she twirled and skipped around the tables of the tavern while he played his fiddle, and the patrons/audience cheered and clapped.  She will never forget the joy that she felt... the happiness that emanated throughout the room that day.  It was euphoric, and that feeling only continued to grow as Oslo started to teach her how to hone her musical talents.  She doesn't just want to be 'famous'... she wants to make people happy with her music. Releasing Yishana and Antonis from their magical 'prison' or hiding place or what have you is right up there with the happiest moments of her life.  Yishana probably had a lot more of a positive impact because... well... hello, magic flute ... and Antonis' prank was just.. *shudders*  Finding out she was a dragon and who her true parents are hit her hard, obviously.  There was a lot happening around that time.  It was also around that time that her romance with Trelic began.  Being with Trelic scared her because it was her first romantic relationship and being a bard, Elly had always been taught to be true to her heart but she always had a hard time figuring out what her heart was saying about him.  This was made even more difficult when all of the issues in Lerton started to arise and the rose-colored glasses came off when it came to her paladin.  She started to see that people had a different point of view on being 'good' and that maybe she and her companions weren't actually all on the same side with the same goals.  Trelic's leaving also hit Elly hard.  They had been fighting and had split up, but she still cares about him and feels that the group needs him and that maybe he would have stuck around if she had been less... her . It may come as a surprise, but I think the one thing that impacted Elly the most was Draxx giving her the title and the tower, and that little village of Lastow with it.  It wasn't just about being a bard anymore and playing music.  For the first time, she was responsible for other people in a greater sense.  Elly still strives to put a smile on peoples' faces, but now she wants to do so more long-term.  Elly truly wants to heal the world and she wants to be respected and loved deeply. Many little moments throughout her time adventuring have had an impact on her self esteem.
