Save and Load Card Decks

The ability to save and load decks of cards would save enormous amounts of time in addition to allowing players to share decks and Roll20 to sell them at the market and make more money :) The ability to merge decks would also be extremely useful. For example if you wanted a deck composed of two decks of standard playing cards then instead of having to construct all 108 cards from scratch, you would only have to merge two standard decks together. Big time saver, particularly if your game uses more than 2 decks.
+1 Also the ability to duplicate a card rather than have to upload it twenty times woud be useful: perhaps when creating a card there can also be an input field asking how many copies of this card should be created for the deck?
Yes, duplication of cards would also greatly speed up deck building for certain types of deck. So our shopping list for the Roll20 devs is as follows. 1/ The ability to save and load card decks. It would make Roll20 money because you'd be able to sell decks the same way you do images. 2/ The ability to merge two card decks to form a single large deck. 3/ The ability to duplicate cards rather than uploading the same image multiple times. Now that shouldn't be too hard :)

Just a note, you do not need to upload the same image multiple times. You can drag the image from your art library sidebar to the card. - Gauss
Really?, that's useful to know, thanks. I never actually tried to duplicate cards myself, I was just responding to the other poster's concerns.
Gauss said: Just a note, you do not need to upload the same image multiple times. You can drag the image from your art library sidebar to the card. - Gauss I tried that but it didn't work. I used Chrome and Firefox, thought it could be something to do with the browser. Most of the time it just drops the image on the map.

Lucas , here are my steps to dragging the image from your art library to the card. 1) Click the Decks and Tables tab 2) Click on the deck you wish to edit. 3) Click "Add Card" 4) Click the Art Library tab 5) Search for the token you want to drop onto the card. In this case I will use the search term "Ace" 6) Drag the desired image from the Art Library to the "Drop a file" section of the new card. The image should now appear in the card's image section. If this does not work for you please provide a screen shot of your browser at the moment you are about to drop the image onto the card. - Gauss
Thank you Gauss ! I was actually opening my art library window and trying to drag the image directly from there. Thank you very much!

The Art Library Manager (window) can only drop things to the tabletop. For other destinations you need the Art Library Sidebar. :) - Gauss
+1 for duplicating decks and cards, deck merging, and for a save/load feature.
Well I just opened up a lot of space knowing I can drag card faces from the library. Perhaps a less obsure way of doing this could be implimented, maybe a button named "Choose from Art Library" could be added under the upload button on blank cards, or at least some better documentation on this.
I also noticed that I don't have an option to move my decks from one campaign to another. I spent a lot of time creating these decks and I would not want to do it again. I know you can copy a campaign. Can I copy it, then rename it and remove everything but the decks from it and use it for another campaign?

Torin , moving elements of a campign from one campaign to another is already a feature called the Transmogrifier. Mentors can use the Transmogrifier to move elements between campaigns including decks. - Gauss
+1 for this. Would love to have a tarot card deck or a deck of many things, illusions, etc. Also it'd be cool to have things like apples to apples or other games added, though they'd have custom art (unless publishers added the cards themselves.) While we're on the subject, is there a green-felt background that can be easily added to the board? I love the idea of having modules for different card games, board games, and even trpg systems so if we could tell the table we're playing black jack maybe it could automatically set the background to the green, or if we said idk settlers of catan it could set the board up and pull out the deck for that.
This is an excellent idea!!!

Shaedi, You can set the background color to any color you wish. Click on the Page Toolbar icon (top right corner of the map) and then click on the Page Settings icon (left of the page you want to change). Then change the background color as desired. If you do not see a color you want you can insert the HTML color code you want. You can find color codes at websites like this one: <a href="http://html-color-codes.info/" rel="nofollow">http://html-color-codes.info/</a> - Gauss
Thanks, I meant more like an easy 'card mode' for playing cards, like the modules you offer (thanks for mentioning that btw!) I would love to see more modules, and just like save/loading card decks being able to save/load modules so you can give them to friends. So basically when creating a game you say the game you're going to play and it automatically loads what you need. Cards would be an option, it'd automatically set the background up as needed and if any special decks are required, it'd load them too, or chips or whatever. If you had all that you might attract a wider audience.

Shaedi, If you want to create a module and you have all of the artwork and publishing rights then I am sure the Devs would love to hear from you: <a href="https://marketplace.roll20.net/home/becomecreator" rel="nofollow">https://marketplace.roll20.net/home/becomecreator</a> Alternately, if you know of a publisher willing to work with Roll20 then you can give them that link. - Gauss
Yea I know, I meant more like open source stuff like gin or whatever. But is it actually legal to upload assets that let people play a game, without including the copyrighted art and the rules? For example, I own 'the resistance' and so I made custom tokens to play it on roll20. Would it be ok if I made a module for that?

Shaedi, Here is our code of conduct: <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/125912/roll20-community-code-of-conduct#post-125912" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/125912/roll20-community-code-of-conduct#post-125912</a> - Gauss
Thanks, so according to that we can distribute assets that are completely custom as well as open source content? I'll go ahead and sign up and I'll submit what I've done, and I'll hope your screening process can tell me for sure. Mostly I want to share with people for free, and while I'd like to be able to export a module/campaign/game this will have to do for now. Thank you for your assistance.
