LFG On-and-Off again Player looking for experienced DM and others (3.5)

I am not new to D&amp;D and am fairly well read with 3rd and 3.5 D&amp;D. However none of my games (as player or DM) have held together very long. I recently rolled up two characters out of boredom and am looking to play one. First up is Kaeroaen, the Half-Brass Dragon Desert Gnome Bard (had some fun with Unearthed Arcana, Monster Manual and some help from Races of the Dragon &amp; Draconomicon). He's ECL 4 for the Half-Dragon bit so I'd be ok with joining an adventure in progress if the group will have me. Kaeroaen is probably broken but I would love to try to remain in character for this guy. Brass Dragons and Gnomes are both very talkative (as am I) and I have him set up to be able to talk his way out of almost any situation. Next is Ahther Brar'malreth, the Grey Elf Wizard. He's a haughty, self-important scholar and scribe who seeks out the world's knowledge. I've never played a wizard before but wouldn't mind trying. I'm lower management in retail so my schedule is all over the place but I'm usually out by 5pm (Eastern US) but some times as late as 8pm. Unless I have the next day off the sessions need to end no later than midnight (EST). I have no issue with new players but I want an experienced DM. Kaeroaen: <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=498855" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=498855</a> Ahther: <a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=498917" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=498917</a> EDIT: For those who may be wondering, here are Kaeroaen's stats BEFORE the half-dragon and gnome ability adjustments. I use the roll 4d6, add highest 3, then assign once you have six scores as initially described in the opening of the abilities chapter of the PHB 3.5. The original roll was 10, 16, 12, 14, 13, 18. In case you're not familiar, Gary Elves get -2 STR and +2 INT *in addition to the other elf alterations (forgot that part)*
Background: Kaeroaen Kaeroaen was born to the Desert Gnome mother and Brass Dragon father. For many years Kaeroaen's grandfather, Dalklen, was the drive master a merchant caravan that traversed a particularly dangerous part of the desert, called the Maze of Fire, for one of the Merchant Lords. There had once been a volcano not far off eons ago and now there were many craggy out-croppings that were both shelter and dead ends. At one particular mountainous spot there was a cave that was tended by a strange gnome who called himself, Baruran. All he asked in return for caravans resting there was good conversation. Dalklen's daughter, Mikkachikka (means "desert beauty" and Dalklen enjoyed that rhyme in the name.), seemed to be a favorite of this strange caretaker. A few months after their last stop their Mikkachikka was notable pregnant. She admitted to laying with the caretaker and Dalklen intended to make Baruran account for the child. On the return trip Dalklen asked Baruran aside and told him what had transpired. Dalklen insisted on meeting Baruran's kin but the caretaker refused and said he would help pay for whatever was need but he would not journey with them. Dalklen became upset by this refusal to be nothing more than an estranged parent. He drew a knife to merely threaten the fellow but Baruran responding by dropping the illusion he held whenever visitors were at this cave. Suddenly before Dalklen was a Brass Dragon. The dragon spoke, "I will care for my child. Make up a story if you must, even after the child is born, but keep it a secret that the caretaker here is a dragon. These mountains are my home and I enjoy the company of the many caravans that pass this way. I don't not want fear driving away those I care for and bring me would-be adventures attempting to take what is mine." Dalklen went to his daughter, shaken. "Ikka (ee-ka), Baruran is a dragon." Mikkachikka responded, "I know. We'll just have to make sure that no one knows that Baruran is the father." Dalklen was troubled by this but kept the secret long. When Kaeroaen was born it became known that a Brass Dragon lived out in the desert somewhere but it is not yet discovered that it is Baruran. Kaeroaen grew to know who his father was though. Baruran taught Kaeroaen many stories, how to play the harp, and attempted to teach some sorcery as well. Dalklen tried to teach him the ways of being a trader. The animals would sometimes spook at his scales but the learning the value of things also appealed to his dragon blood. However, music and legends held his interests the most and Kaeroaen grew into fine bard and now seeks his fortune out in the wider world.
Background: Ahther Brar'malreth Bara'malreth clan is well known for their combat capabilities and leadership among the Grey Elves of the Thoissavain Citadel. The Thoissavain had successfully brought many nearby races under their rule. Dwarves and Gnomes from the mountain, Hobbits and other Elven races from the forest at the base of the mountain range, and even Humans and a few Sea Elves from the near by coast are subject to the king. Ahther's father, Gilinar, was the General of the Griffon Cavalry forces. It was Gilinar's exploits as a Captain-Commander that brought the near by coast under the domain of the Thoissavain Grey Elves. When the magically aptitude of his son was apparent Ahther was entered into the Enclave of Mages to train in the arcane arts. Gilinar encouraged his son to become proficient in combative magics but Ahther often preferred reading and often assisted the scribes in transcribing older texts. While proficient at many strategic games, there was an internal craving for more knowledge inside him that often had him returning to the library. It was here that Ahther came to learn of many things, including the gods. Ahther felt his constant questing for all there is to know was a gift from Baccob and soon took to being a follower of the Lord of All Magics. Gilinar tries not to show any disappointment in his son, as that is not the elven way, but Gilinar wishes his son was more military-minded. However Ahther can often sense that his father wishes more of him. This as well as his never ending drive for more information about the world around him has caused Ahther to venture out to prove himself a master strategist (to make his father proud), a mage of insurmountable intellect, and a true follower of Baccob.
