[LFP] Wheel of Time: The 4th Age [Wheel of Time D20 & D&D 3.5, First Game Oct. 19th 5 PM MDT]

The   Wheel of Time turns and ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legends fade to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Fourth Age by some, an Age yet to come, an age long passed, The Winds of Change sprung forth over the world. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings or endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning. Much has changed in the 1000 years since the Dragon Reborn made his stand against the Dark One. Elves, Dwarves, Halflings, and Orcs now walk alongside Human and Ogier. Horrible creatures once thought lost to the turnings of the Wheel have returned, making the world much more dangerous and mysterious than it used to be. Ancient Secrets and Hidden Treasures are waiting to be uncovered. Portal Stones have activated and surged with power, creating gateways to alternate realities... alien worlds long forgotten: The Etherial Plane, the Shadow Plane, the Elemental Planes, and the bizzare Outer Planes. Hell & Heaven... the Chaos of the Abyss... are all open now to explore. So come brave adventurer... do you have what it takes to explore the Great Pattern of the Wheel? I am a friendly GM for hire looking to fill the three remaining seats of my 1st Wheel of Time Game. I am looking for 3 reliable players who are preferably Wheel of Time fans. The game is going to be an open ended, semi-sandbox campaign set roughly 1000 years after the books that will go for as long as the group wants it to. However, I would prefer at least 4 sessions so you guys get your money's worth. Games will be played using a system based off a combination of Wheel of time D20, D&D 3.5, and some homebrew. Players will be starting at 3rd level, and Wheel of Time base classes will be used, as they fit the setting better than most dnd base classes. House rules and general storyline will be established based on group concensus as well as the needs of the setting. Style wise I try to maintain a roughly equal balance between roleplaying and hack-n'-slash. Some character optimization might be useful, but just enough to make them competent at their role. Make sure that your character has some... well, characterization. Expect some worldbuilding. I don't like to set a specific tone for a campaign, as i like to be both lighthearted and funny at times, and serious during others, so keep that in mind. Players may or may notbe dealing with serious issues such as slavery. Meta gaming can get rather annoying to me, so don't go overboard. I am willing to teach new players how to play. Sessions will be held weekly, sessions tentatively scheduled for Wednesday's at 5 PM Mountain Daylight Time, and will last 4-6 hours at most. Game starts October 19th. My scheduling is flexible and I am willing to change the time and day, but I am a student, so options are somewhat limited. Additional information can be found on the LFG post  here . Applications should be posted to the LFG page as well. Make sure to post your skype ID so I can interview you in person, and have a reliable way to contact you. If you have any questions feel free to send me a PM, or post them in your application. Disclaimer: This   game will require payment for my time as a Game Master with a one time signup fee of $25, although tips of $1 or more will also be accepted at the end of each game session. Be advised that payment will occur off site via Paypal or Bitcoin Transaction and cannot be enforced by the Roll20 staff.

Note: I do intend to create this a multi-group setting if possible. Vouches: Daniel B. said: I am a player in Cameron's RotRL game and I highly recommend him. He is patient, he listens, he considers all sides before making a decision and is both reasonable and fair. All are good qualities in a GM. We have been with him from 1st to 5th level in Runelords and he is good at adding to the AP on the fly to keep things interesting. I think if he is this good at a pathfinder AP that he says he is not as experienced with, then at the Wheel of Time, where he is most experienced, I am sure he is excellent. I am not a WoT fan, so I probably won't be in that game, but for those that like the setting, I recommend they go with Cameron tats_gig17 . said: Another player in Durzan's RotRL campaign here. As a first-time player to pen and paper gaming, I find Durzan to be incredibly patient and encouraging while maintaining a satisfying amount of difficulty. He accepts challenges to his decisions with good humor for the most part. While GM word is law at the end of the day, Durzan does relent/compromise if players insist that a situation is inappropriately hard to handle for level, takes interesting suggestions into serious consideration, and always ends his sessions with, "Did everyone have a good time?" I'd like to think the answer is yes since we've all been coming back for months now. :)
