Greetings, I'm Johnson or you can call me Ryan.
I was rewatching Lord of the Rings for the second time, and saw The Hobbit some weeks ago. Watching LotR again really sparked my interest. I started looking into tabletop again, Baldur's Gate, and GW2. I've yet to buy it yet, only because Gog refused my card. Spent some time on Reddit looking for a group, which lead me here.
Obviously new to DND and this whole experience here. At one time I had a group of friends that would play Star Wars Miniatures, then we moved on to roleplaying. It was more about the RP, rather than stats and keeping everything accurate. However, the DM did keep everything in check.
I'm not sure if what we did is comparable. He did have several books, we used dice to determine if something hit or not, and had characters sheets. Either way it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I moved away and haven't tried finding a new group. Other than that I have done online play-by-post roleplaying for around ten years, but that is definitely more about the story. It did make me a good writer, though. Writing and RPing has been a part of me for a while, but I never got around to much tabletop.
I'd like to give it a go. I'm reading the Player's Handbook. I'd take any pre-gen or I could come up with one. Doesn't matter to me. I have skype and a working mic, picking up a webcam soon. I'm not very familiar with any other game types. As I said, I'm reading the Dungeons and Dragons PHB. I would be glad to try any kind of campaign, though.
I don't really know what else to say except, thanks for reading this!
Best Regards!
