A campaign is probably the best way to get good as a DM. Running nothing but lvl 1 adventures.... I don't see how that helps you grow. But it's up to you. I will join if you can make this ongoing. If it is 1 night, lvl 1, thank you nice to meet you.... not interested. I would LOVE to join, I am looking for 3.5 group. But.. not if its one shot.

You always make it your own, module or not. Inevitable. Trying to color too much in the lines just makes it worse. Even if you get a rules lawyer, since you are learning that is a plus.
