Number of players display discrepancy

My VTT page shows one player. The campaign pages shows 2. I'm cool either way, just thought you may wish to know.

Checking to see if I understand correctly: The Campaign page (join page) shows two players. However, there is only one player in the game currently? If that is an statement is accurate then everything is working correctly. The Campaign page lists people that have joined the campaign. It does not list who is currently playing. If I did not understand you correctly please elaborate further. :) - Gauss
1. If I go to the VTT (tab?) next to the pink d20 icon, this tab displays "1" for the number of players. On the "join" / campaign page, I have two avatars, one for myself and one other. Above it states "2 players" I hope that this is clear enough. I am a tech-chimp. Likely no big deal, but perhaps it isn't, and could serve some diagnostic or other purpose. As stated previous, not a big deal for me, as to whether or not it is to the site pers...? Dunno.

Hmmm, what browser are you using? I do not have a number next to the pink d20 icon at the top left corner next to 'virtual tabletop'. Perhaps I am missing something. :) Could you take a couple of screenshots and post them? - Gauss
Safari, which doesn't want to let me paste or post the screen shot. Dang I hate apple. ON this tab, under my game (not next to the icon) the number of players. When I go to my game, from this page, my campaign displays 2 for number of players. Oh, I did copy, and then delete said copy, of the same game. Perhaps relevant.

Unfortunately, I do not know anything about Safari. - Gauss
Well, if it is an issue, and props for the effort, then it sounds as if it is more in the realm of the (payed?) roll 20 crew pay grade. Yooda (man?) though. Oh, as you may have gathered, I find apple/safari quite in the realm of the arcane m'self.

Paid? you think anyone involved in Roll20 is paid? LOL :) - Gauss
Perhaps not for the moment. The site does have potential though, and I'm sure the thought has crossed. Wonder if they've crossed talked w/the relevant online parties? Literally not my biz though, just an obvious thought. : L

T M., have you invited anyone to play in this campaign?
Yes. Since the copy /delete, one has joined.

The way I understand it is that everyone that is part of the game is listed. It counts the GM and all the players so that could mean the two is you and the player while the other just lists how many is active in the VTT room. My front page aka the campaign page shows 8 people : Me, 6 players, and a lurker while the VTT game room will only show who is in that room so if only you are in the room it will only list one player. If you and another is in the room then it will list 2 players. I may be wrong but that is how I understood it.

I might be wrong, but I believe Metroknight described exactly where those numbers came from.

Im still curious about the number next to the pink d20 icon. I haven't ever seen it before and I thought I knew the system pretty well. LOL :) If anyone can post a screenshot of that I would appreciate it. - Gauss

The d20 is pink? interesting tidbit since I can't see colors very well. The only d20 I ever see is the one up in the header bar at the top of the page along with the other links. I've never noticed a number next to it just Virtual Tabletop, Marketplace, etc... so I don't know. I thought he/or she was just referring to the player count being off in their campaign front page and the count inside the VTT game room.

Metroknight: I thought that too but the OP stated there was a number next to the pink d20 symbol at the top left. I havent ever seen a number there. - Gauss
I attempt to clarify, and yet confound.... There is NO number by the pink die. Look, before the number (prior to my going to my game page) of players equalled the numbers on the game page. Now they don't match. I only pointed it out as a courtesy. It seems that in trying to prevent a problem, and confusion, a problem has catalyzed.

No worries T M. We take bug reports seriously here and we want to help. :) In any case, I think I figured out the problem. The page you arrive at when you click 'Virtual Tabletop' is the page you are referring to. When you say 'VTT' I think most of us think 'VTT game page' rather than the listing of the various games you are a part of. So here is what I figured out: Page 1: http://app.roll20.net/home/ Listed on Page 1 are the various games you are a part of. Each game has a listing of # of players. Page 2: http://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details.... Listed on Page 2 is the campaign detail page for a specific campaign. Above the tokens is a count of the number of players. Discrepancy: Page 1 sometimes lists one less player than page 2. I have confirmed this with a couple of my own games. I believe it is not counting the GM in those cases. Thank you for your patience, I will file a bug report. - Gauss
No worries, the ongoing concern lay with my concerted and yet failing communications. It seems a motif. I'm cool with the discrepancy really. Minor my end. At least it is a confirmed bug, and so not entirely pointless.
