I'm planning on running some of the old classics. We'll start with Temple of Elemental Evil (classic dungeon crawl) and transition into the G-D-Q series with some "misc" in between. I would prefer players who aren't familiar with the source modules and I'm very open to new comers to RPGs or AD&D 1st Edition. I started playing AD&D in the late 70s and played it along with anything else I could my hands on for a couple decades. Then I took a break for a couple decades and now I'm getting back into the groove. I DMed a 3.5e campaign last year and came to the conclusion that I just don't like feats, so I decided to return to what I know/love best. I'm NOT a great DM. I can't do voices ( I try sometimes, but it's never good) and I often have to look things up (spell effects, etc), but I DO know the material and always prepare. Players will be asked to agree to/tolerate a certain amount of railroading due to the fact that I want to run through so many pre-made modules, but it will be as minimal as possible. I have a lot of experience at DMing and my style is to play WITH the players to make their experience as fun as possible. I do not try to kill the party and I don't get upset when the BBEG dies in act 1. If you are interested, let me know a little about you, your gaming experience (or lack thereof) and what kind of character you would like to run (and what kind you do NOT like to run). Let me know what time(s) work for you and what you would like from me to make the game fun for you. I think a party of 3 or 4 would be ideal for me. Have any questions, advice or opinions? EDIT TO ADD: It'll probably be a few weeks before I'm ready to begin. So maybe a session to two to make characters before Thanksgiving (Nov-28) and the game could start in earnest the week after.

I have never played this particular thing before, but would love to try it. I usually play assassins or rogues of some sort, and hate anything that has to take a lot of dmg, like tanks or heavy weapon wielders. I am available any day, but I have a few time restraints due to schooling.
I've been keeping my eye out for a 1st ed campaign and might be interested in this, depending on the pacing of TOEE. I've played through most it some time back but couldn't get through it all the way even after several years of real-time campaigning (TOEE is quite a slog, particularly for new party). Personally, I think the B series (In Search of Adventure, Keep on the Borderlands) might be more interesting for a new group players. Cheers!
Quite interested in a 1st edition game. Only recently back into p&p rpgs. Feeling very much a newbie. I'll send a pm with more details. Thanks :)
I have some experience playing star wars d6 but no d&d experience. Though that is what I really want to play. I would be most interested in playing something like a halfelf rouge, though I would play most anything.
Hello, My Brother and myself are interested in playing 1st Edition D&D (letting him know about your post). We have never played with modules before, so there's no problem there. We played 1st and 2nd Edition during the eighties and then took a two decade break...college/life. Came back to Pathfinder and didn't like all the powers given to a character right off the bat... started to look into D&DNext with some test playing. Interested in playing a Cleric... no real distaste of any character class. Looking a a good group of people to play D&D and have fun. We are both located in the Central Time Zone, time frame would be good for us. Are you planning to use Roll20 communication?

Khrain, I still have my 1st edition book from 1984 and would love to jump at a chance to play 1st edition again! I have recently returned to rpgs this year too. have played Pathfinder recently and a bit with D&Dnext play test. The time and day for the game is perfect too (7 GMT on Fridays). Would really like to play a magic user. Looking forward to hearing from you. Oh yeah, never played modules before, but that's cool with me so long as i get the chance to play a M-U again! We are also looking to get into a long lasting group that likes to game with each other and have fun. I did DM two games, but done with that for now. Looking forward to just being a player. Charles Bucket (I am Wigram's bother as well)
Hello Khrain, I've been DMing the TOEE here on Roll20 since this last April and the party just finished entering the 1st level of the Temple's dungeon last game. (We play every other Friday.) Last game the party was a bit frustrated with the slow rate of progress and we made some changes to help speed things up. Here is what we decided to do in case it can help you out: 1. All training and leveling-up is now done in between games. We were spending a great deal of time with PC-travel, roleplaying with potential trainers, and other administrative tasks during game sessions on this topic. We still use the full rules, but we don't waste any game-time with them. 2. I track all XP and GP related to training and leveling-up. 3. The party distributes magic items immediately. I award the XP value for it for the session and if a player sells it later the GP goes to them (they can post in between games if they want to move gp around for training costs). 4. As far as combat, the players will now use the auras, name plates, and Journals to reminder them if they have any combat-related rules they need to remember. Hope this helps and good luck with your game! Best Wishes, Laz

Hi Khrain, Seems like there's a lot of interest, and way more than 4 people already. I'm a gamer / DM from way back as well, started in 78. I saw the modules a few decades ago, but that's not a problem. I like to play a human Mage. Perhaps there'd be room for two? I'm CST as well. I've played in a couple of games here, and I recommend the suggestions above as well as skype for communication. Journals and spells kept on the roll20 char sheets. A party loot / and item distribution page as an editable handout. Cheers, Graeme.
