Game Intro:
We are looking for one or two players to round out our Cthulhu gaming group.
The game is set in London in 1890 (think the time of Sherlock Holmes) and focuses on the adventure of a group of normal citizens pulled into the mystery and horror of the Cthulhu mythos when they make a gruesome discovery about a neighbor.
I am currently set up to run two adventures in this setting and with these characters: a short, introductory adventure (which is already in progress) and a longer sequel adventure.
We've only had one full session so far.
System:
We are using the FATE system (mostly the Dresden Files books, with some house rules to better reflect the gritty and deadly nature of the Cthulhu world. Oh, and Dresden files is SO going to be my next campaign when this is done.) For those not familiar with FATE, it is an excellent system for roleplay heavy games, as the character mechanics are tied directly into the character's personality and background. We are all a little new to the system, so newbies to FATE are welcome (you'll fit right in!)
Organization:
We currently game at Wednesday from 8 PM - ~11 PM CST, though we start earlier when we can. We are also talking about moving the game to Thursdays at 6 PM. Please let me know your availability. It may work out where I contact people on Mondays to find which day and time works better for the week given their work schedules for that week.
You must have a microphone and be willing to use it to play. It just helps the game go SO much faster. We don't use webcams.
We message over Skype to organize sessions and chat about the game between sessions.
Characters:
Character creation in Fate is tied in heavily with the other characters and with the setting. I don't need you to send me a character sheet at this time. Just send me a concept page on what you want to play: a short background, personality, and quirks or whatever else you want to add. We will get together and fill out the rest sometime before the session.
Currently the party has:
Edward Tayvin, curator at the London Museum of Natural History
Marcia Graves, governess
Timothy MacBeth, actor and rogue
There is also Robert Smith, Pathologist at St. Mary's Hospital, who was the very well made character of the player who unfortunately had to leave the game. If you would rather jump right into my game world with a pre-made character (particularly if you're new to FATE) I would love to see this character used. He could of course be tweaked to individual tastes.
If you are interested, you can post here or private message me.
