Looking to pilot Mecha!

I'm a long time role player, and fairly system agnostic (except that I really like Warhammer Fantasy RPG). Many cycles ago I piloted a Beta and a Sabre Cyclone in Robotech. I found that I like big robots that blow stuff up. I'd really enjoy getting in with another group in a mecha piloting game, esp. if it is semi-militaristic. I don't have any books that support such a system right now, so I'd need to get them, or borrow some, or something. My availability right now is completely open, but that may (hopefully) change as I'm job hunting. Anything you want to know, just ask. :)
Huge fan of Battletech and Mechwarrior myself. I'm curious to see what the level of interest is for shootin' stompin' mech action on Roll20.
Do you play MechWarrior Online? I have an account, but haven't had much time to play lately. :/ And prefer RPG's anyway.
I love mechas of all kind. I would love to rp with you if you'd like to do one.
Sure! We need a GM, unless you were offering?
Do you play MechWarrior Online? Never played MechWarrior online. I've dabbled with Megamek, but most of my experience comes from tabletop games (both the RPG and the wargame). I'm just about to read through the Mech setting for FATE Core that was uploaded to see how well it can run a game like this.
Never played FATE, but I'm up for learning a new system.
No, I'm no good at GMing. I have no experience whatsoever.
I have some exp. And I suck. Ah well . . . Plus the work it would take to run an unfamiliar system.
Never played FATE, but I'm up for learning a new system. I wouldn't worry about having to. IMO, it's not a good fit for what I would want out of a Mech game. To paraphrase Gertrude Stein, there's no there there. Anyone with any experience with either Mekton Z, Heavy Gear or another alternative?
hey, i am interested in playing a Mecha game as well. i live in the Philippines, gmt+8. i have a print-out copy of Mekton Zeta. i have never played it yet bec i never get the chance to. i also have joined another group here on roll20 but it seemed the gm is kinda busy and hasnt logged on since December. here is the link if you wanna check it out: http://community.roll20.net/discussion/3397/lfg-mekton-zeta-giant-mech-anime-1-more-player-needed#Item_51
I bought Mekton Zeta yesterday from rpgnow and was really impressed with it. I'll have some time this weekend to work on the mech creation system and start fleshing out some ideas.
That would be awesome. Is the book shareable? I don't want to buy it just to decide if I want to play it. Or is there a site that has the info, like the srd for pathfinder?

No SRD for Mekton, unfortunately. There is an introductory pamphlet called "Mekton Alpha" that covers the basics of the game and plenty of reviews around. The pdf is $10, but the one with the expanded mech creation system is $12. If I did run something, I'd either whip up a cheat sheet for the players and/or host the pdf on my google drive. I'm also toying with the idea of using GURPS for character creation and non-mech activities and run the mech combats in the Mekton system.
$12 isn't much, and honestly, last year I'd have just bought it. Sadly, this year I can't. I'll check Allen's link. Glad to see that at least some game systems have reasonable prices for their electronic books. Still prefer hardcovers, tho.
