Greetings! I am looking for players to begin a long term campaign beginning this Saturday, November 12th at 7PM CST. For those new to Numenera - imagine a civilization one billion years into the future after countless civilizations have shaped the planet and fallen into dust. Imagine gleaming cities harnessing technology to the point of magic (think Asgardian tech in the Marvel movies) and cults thousands of years old scraping out existence in mile-long husks that were once warships in the last great war. Imagine alien colonies detached from their homeworlds for long enough to go native and creatures modified and reprogrammed by the iron wind of the wastes. About me: Although I haven't done anything in several years, I have over 20 years of stage experience. I found RPGs as an acting exercise and enjoy getting into the evolving detail of what makes a character come to life. As such, expect to roleplay - not only against the actors I will bring forward to play my NPCs but with other characters in your party. Character generation in the cypher system is very clean and opens a world of possibilities focused on 3 main "classes" - The Glaive, The Nano and the Jack. Generally, a Glaive is a "force" character, a Nano is a "mind" character and a Jack is a mix of both worlds. But choosing any one doesn't force you into a stereotype. The Cypher System asks you to choose a descriptor and a foci beginning with "I am a (adjective) (class) that (verb)". Do you want to be an "intelligent" Glaive that "crafts objects"? Go for it. A "rugged" Nano that "Masters Weaponry"? Sounds like a BLAST. The campaign I am building is long term and will be very involved. Since I enjoy examining the relationships between people you can expect intrigue, plot twists, action, surprise and plot threading. If you've seen the movie L.A. Story - there's a shot of Steve Martin very early in the movie driving past a guy on the road staring up at one of the magic road signs. It's a throwaway shot that comes back to become very important to the story - I love writing like that and that's the depth I strive for. Now....I've never used Roll20 before. I would like to use a setup that allows all of us to see each other and have audio and use Roll20 as the table. So I'm open to anyone's ideas on how that happens. As the core group gets set I will also be utilizing an external site to post descriptions, details, things happening in the world to fill in the blanks outside of our sessions. So...this has rambled a bit but: November 12th 7-11PM Weekly Audio and Video Preferred Roleplayers required
