Custom Tokens

I've been trying to make some custom tokens for use in my game. I've tried using TokenTool, and can't get it to run, tried GIMP, but it's over complicated. HAs anyone got any suggestions, or can give me a hand getting one of these previous examples to work please. Leigh H
I can help you with GIMP. I mostly do textures and objects in it using scripts, but a token is easy-peasy.
Open Photoshop Drop the picture you want to make a token in Crop out a square or circle section. Save it. If it's a circle, save it as a PNG. Upload it.
Asaram, can you give me a step by step tutorial using skype please?
Askren, I dont have Photoshop, and am not looking to get it. I wanted to use TokenTool, but can't even get it to run

Sent you a PM H16.
The easiest thing I have found so far is paint.ne t. Just use the magic want to select the background, hit delete, and save as a pgn. It is easy to use and makes creating tokens a breeze.
Is there a suggested size (memory) limit for tokens (those images you would use as tokens)? Or does it really matter?

Here's what's written on our wiki regarding what we suggest for Token specs for Marketplace content : "Tokens: 280x280 pixels in PNG format, regardless of the "in-game" size of the token. At this image size, the token could be as large as 4x4 squares in-game without any issues, and will support zooming in -- and it will look good on the Marketplace listings page, as well. Do be sure, however, that your tokens are still recognizable/"look good" at smaller sizes (e.g. 70x70 pixels). Note that tokens should "fill" the square without any excess padding, and feature a drop-shadow or other outline to make them easy to distinguish from background elements."

Thanks for the info. The ones I'm working on don't have drops shadows to set them off, but they are on transparent back grounds and seem to stand out nicely.
H16, do you have Java installed? TokenTool needs it, and didn't work for me until I installed it. Then it worked like a charm, and was MUCH faster than a paint program.
I assume so, but I might be wrong
Ok, I've got TokenTool to run, but when I drag a picture from Google Images to it, it does nothing
Pixlr.com is Photoshop light and it is completely free. Don't even need to install anything, completely browser based. I make all my tokens in it.
