Purple Link Problem

Ok i have learned that in a hand out i can link to npcs  by brackets around the name and it will link to the NPC . Now i have a problem I am setting up to run aSavage Worlds Acthtung Cthulhu campaign . i have 2 mook npcs labeled Gestapo and German Infantry , Bracketing linked these fine. Now the problem i have a Wild card character whos sheet is set up as such and his name is The Exarch Reinhardt Weissler. i have madesure spelling and capitalizations were all the same BUT when i do the brackets it doesnt turn purple and link to this Npc , and i have gone in and out of Roll20 just to make sure it wasnt a glitch. any idea why this isnt working..?

I don't know what the problem is, but I can probably give you a workaround. My guess is that there is some hidden character in the name preventing it from working, or possibly a special character.  Try renaming it to something simple like "bob", link to that, then save it. Right click the link and copy it. You should be able to make a traditional link with that URL using the chain icon and name it the full name you want, then rename the document back to the full name. The URL is based on the handout or character id and not the name, you see.
I have problems with a space either before or after the name causing the problem.
