4E D&D group seeking members.

Hi, My name is Jack aka chocl8215. I am currently DMing a 4th edition D&D group with 3 of my friends. However, 2 of them continuously fail to show up without explanation. as such, I do not wish my efforts to go to waste, and am seeking 2 - 4 players of at least marginal skill (I want you to at least have played a rollplaying gamebefore and know the basics. I am willing to teach new players, but not entirely new players.) We meet Friday afternoon at 8:00 and play will last between 2 - 3 hours. Please inform me prior if you are unable to attend. Contact via Steam's messaging system would work best. (I am chocl8215 on steam as well.) and my e-mail is chocl8215@yahoo.com I currently have a character in the game, however if this bothers you or if I feel the group is fine without my character, then I will remove my character from the game. I own 6 books of 4e D&D (players handbook 1, 2, and 3, monster manual 1 and 2, and dungeon master's guide.) Use of other books for your own character will be at my discretion. For instance, the swordmage class. I am not certain if I will allow use of this class in the campaign, but i likely will. I have planned this game ou for months; I have an entire world ready, with 2 fleshed out kingdoms, a map of the island continent they sit on, and each city and town of importance along the way given at least 2 pages of work on describing them. I will be improvising some aspects of the story on the fly, but rest assured that I am serious about this game, and want it to be enjoyable for all. I do ask that you roleplay your character somewhat, but not so much so that you only speak in character or such things. You are of course allowed to do so, but if you prefer to just have a set personality for your character and who he/she is, and go by it, that is all i ask. I would also like a bit of backstory on your character; who are they/ what do they wan/ why do they want it? etc. Lastly, it's a game; we have fun. Come with an open mind and a smile, you won't be dissappointed. That about does it, thank you for your time spent reading this, and I hope to see you soon on the docks of Bigsea.
Hey mate im a newer player but I would have no problem showing up and gaming it out. I work at home and all my other games are planned out on diferent days so let me know
im a new player as well and would love to game with you i can tell there has been effort in this so in order to play with you im willing to learn as fast as possiable
I'm moderately new to DnD, I've played 3.5e for a bit and I have a character already waiting to start up a 4e campaign. I've rollplayed before so it's hardly a new concept to me. My schedule is usually pretty empty so if you'd like to have me I should be free whenever you need. Thank you.
What time zone?
My my, the number of people asking is quite staggering. I am in the EST time zone (sorry i forgot to mention that.) I would prefer the group to be no larger than 5 players and myself, and I did ask someone on the site specifically if they wanted to play. He, his wife, and possibly his 2 friends may be joining, if not, then I will inform you of availability and how i'll determine who I will allow to join. (likely on a first come, first served basis since I want this to be fair. but i may do a contest involving backstory of your character. we'll see.)
For those still interested, I'm going to have a firm maximum of 1 additional player. I have 4 definite yeses from people i contacted previously, and it's only fair that since I asked them speciifically, they get first served rights. However, it is possible that I may be able to fit 1 more person in the game. I will probably be going with a contest of character backstory creation to determine who that spot will go to, if it exists at all. i will know Wednesday whether or not I can accomodate the additional player. Thank you for your patience.
Hello again, I have an update that should make many of you smile. several of my players have had to decline for personal reasons, so I now have up to 3 open spots. Please respond or PM me if you are still interested in joining.
I'd like to join, if there's still a spot open. I've played in one 4th edition campaign before (weekly games lasting about 7 months), and between that and listening to every D&D podcast I can get my hands on, I think I've got a pretty good handle on the mechanics. Please let me know if you'd like me to provide any more information. :)
I'm going to ask that the people that want to oin submit a backstory for their character to me. Tomorrow i'll post the introduction to the story and you can start writing from there. I'll likely keep this open until next wednesday, and the top 3 stories will win.
I'm very sorry i didn't post the intro; I forgot tonight was halloween. I'm about to go to bed now so i can't write it up now, sorry guys. I'll put it up tomorrow since it's Friday.
hey sounds like an awesome game. id love to join. im also est and am a 7 year experienced player
also can have a char and backstory in about 30 min to an hour
I'd love to join, new player but I learn fast and have alot of roleplaying experience, just not in D&D. I could easily make up a backstory for my character. (Mostly already thought out) but to make it fit your campaign, i'll have to know more about what's going on in your world.
Hey, sorry guys I had bad computer troubles. my sound crapped out then my whole computer just wouldn't turn on; I'm on my brother's now. I'll post the intro as soon as it's done.
It has been one full month now since your departure. Only you can say where you have left and what you have left behind, but for whatever reason; you have decided to come to the grand continent of Sommervald, by way of the ship Krakenbreaker. Perhaps you were born in Shao or Clonsmell, the two kingdoms of Sommervald, and you are returning home, or perhaps this is your first visit. Regardless, as you peer out into the distance you can see the haze from the heat of Bigsea, Clonsmell's main port. Krakenbreaker is a massive ship, and there are many coming with you to Bigsea. Your journey has been difficult, storms and tide have pulled Krakenbreaker to places she never wanted to go, but you and the others have made it mostly unmolested. People have been speaking of Sommervald; a few humans are on their way to Blackrock, glory seekers out to discover what plagues the town's very dreams. Some elves are headed to redwood to join the illustrious voice of the forest, a group which they refuse to speak further about. 2 shifters seek refuge among the hustle and bustle of bigsea itself, and you're not certain, but you're pretty sure you caught one of them trying to nick your coinpurse a week ago. But most of these people are headed straight to the mecca of merchandise and the crown jewel of the border desert; Outreach. Everyone is talking about Outreach; the gems discovered below Outreach oasis, the wars fought over the keep, one dwarf continuously swears he's related to the last lord, before the dragonborn Bodrick Shinescales took over. All prospects look good as Krackenbreaker finally pulls into the harbor, the captain proudly beaming from his wheel as he sees another voyage complete.
P.S. if you want to contact me, send me a PM here. don't email me. thank you.

Im a fairly seasoned vet in the 4th edition but only downside is my video and audio are down so i would have to use the chat box. im 20, also in EST timezone, with very flexible schedule, and willing to make a character built around the current party. ill also PM you just to be thorough. hope to see you soon :D Edit: and i also already have a ranger elf built. i can still make another hero but would need about a day to do so, backstory and all.
Anthony, I actually already have a ranger bio sent in, and I don't like to do 2 characters with the same class. If you want you can still send in that character though.
Is the date and time already discussed? I have a LFG thread here , i have a couple of characters ready, including cleric, mage and thief. I could do pretty much any character in aday if there is a need
date is every friday, time at 8:00 PM to 10:00 - ish PM eastern standard time (GMT - 5) and feel free to submit your character, the more potential players the better.
So it would be from 3 am to 5 am in here... I'll have to pass this time, butt I hope the best for your group in your journeys
ah. sorry about that.
I am really interested in joining as i have had similar problems with attendance both while DMing and while playing. But you mentioned that you didn't want to have multiples of the same class... so what classes do you already have?
in my audition we have a ranger and a paladin at the moment.

Hey If you have a spot I would be glad to join the game. Since you already have a ranger and a paladin I put forward 3 different leaders depending on what you allow, or the theme of the group. I like to have mixed groups and to roleplay characters that complement the group. A party of four broody swordsman, even if it fills different roles/classes, just isn't interesting. Redgar, Half-Elf - Bard. Redgar's self confidence is legendary. He would gladly talk back to aristocrats and man twice his size, and most of the time he would wake next morning with a black eye. Although he loves a good battle, he only kills evil creatures preferring non aggressive means when facing sentient non evil beings. He loves to sing and play the lute and the muse of his song is the sound of battle. He not only sings of these heroics he wants to emulate them, to that end he will gladly face many dangers for the sole reward of being a hero. Kyrie, Human - Ardent. Growing up in a orphanage, Kyrie stood out from the other kids as a natural leader. Charismatic she could easily make friends or coerce others to her opinions and settle disputes. As she grew she joined the local guard being an average soldier at best. One day, on patrol in the country side, her group was ambushed by bandits. Being more militia than soldiers and being outnumbered the battle quickly went south. As one of her comrades was about to receive a killing blow, she felt a big headache and, as she wished with all her heart to make the enemy stop, she awakened her psionic powers. Able to transmit emotion and drawing power from it she managed to intimidate the bandits who didn't expect it and ended up retreating. But no one likes their mind messed with and, unable to control her powers at that time, she was honorably discharged from the guard. With nowhere else to go she took to adventuring in search of who her parents are and why she has these powers. Arjahn, Dragonborn - Warlord. From tradition in his family, every newborn is to be educated from a young age to be a leader. Descendant of his house, Arjahn too took his lessons. By day he trained with the sword and shield, and by night he studied strategy and leadership. Succeeding his study and finishing his training he must now go through the rite of passage. Alone he must set out, gather his own companions, and accomplish a feat worthy of great honor. Until he accomplishes this he is not allowed to return, and is not given any status or inheritances his noble name should provide. Only after completing this will he be declared a successor, and earn the right to command the army of his father.
I have now recieved 5 submissions, and as such I am setting the deadline for submissions. PM me with your submission by Wednesday November 14th (6:00 Eastern Standard Time) if you want in.
just a reminder, submission deadline is wednesday, november 14th, and play will begin friday, november 16th at 8:00 PM. any submissions must be turned in by wednesday and if you could make a character sheet by friday that would be a great help. Here is a site where you can make an online copy of your CS - http://www.myth-weavers.com/forumhome.php
I have made my decision on who to accept into the game. Firstly, i would like to thank every one of you who submitted a character or showed interest in the group, secondly, should a player become unable to continue attendance of the game, I may ask that one of you who submitted an idea take his or her place. Last, I just want to say how grateful I am that this community is so vibrant and mature. I didn't receive a single hateful remark or trolling PM while doing this (knock on wood) and for that I am grateful. So, without further ado, the 3 players who I will be admitting are as follows... Anthony Brylon and his eladrin Wizard Barkai Vere-Ang. Christopher B. and his Eladrin Ranger Elanthrin Allenoe and Maurice H. with his dwarven Warlord Shumronotub the Chef If you wish to read up on the adventures of these 3 players, as well as my other 2 players (seen below) I will probably be posting up a sort of blog, chronicaling their daring exploits and ilarious failures through the land of Sommervald. To those that I did not choose, worry not, I am sure there's a DM out there that would love to have you. Heck, maybe it's time you flipped through the ol' monster's manual and played god too. In any case, good luck to you all. dfn the eladrin swordmage / warlock Hybrid and cameron with his Paladin... whose character sheet he needs to finish up soon... yay!
