Ian here, due to the loss of a player at the hands of scheduling conflicts, I seek another player to help fill out the party! Lore of the Campaign The continent the party is on is filled with numerous different nations of varying strength, the dominant force being the Holy Light Empire, a crusading state devoted to the monotheistic worship of the god Sraias and the belief that all other gods are fake or impostors. The continent is kept at a political balance by other powerful states, though a sudden shift in power could change that. Standard Great Wheel Cosmology is used in this campaign, though there are some additions like Sraias to spice things up. This campaign has a mix of grimdark and lightheartedness. It is strange, but works surprisingly well for the context of some concepts in the campaign. The Party These adventurers have come together by an act of Pure Coincidence and pursue their dreams. They travel through the many lands and cultures, doing whatever the hell they want to do. Thankfully, the party alignment is somewhere in between True Neutral and Chaotic Neutral and generally respects the laws and cultures of the lands they go to. Their current quest is investigating the death of the Abbanor Schwartzshield, the Mage King of Nautica, and potentially stopping a war between the Holy Light Empire and Nautica, though the quest after that is up to them to decide. The party currently consists of: Half Orc Ranger (Underdark) Half Orc Blood Hunter (Ghosthunter) High Elf Paladin (Oathbreaker reskinned as an antipaladin of the Queen of Air and Darkness) On a real note, the players are in their 20s, so I would prefer applicants be at least 18 or older for maturity reasons. DM Style My guiding philosophy is that the DM is but one person in the game, and that as DM, I should prioritize the enjoyment of my players. I stay true to the rulebook normally, though I am a fairly liberal DM when it comes to what you want to do and will allow players to be as creative as they want so long as it is within reason and doesn't completely ignore the rules (i.e., the party decided to skin an Adult Black Dragon and use it's scales for magic projects and currency). Cohesiveness of the plot in my campaign is extremely important to me, and I do my best to have a reason for why everything is as it is. Games vary wildly with combat:social ratios, but the average game is currently at a 25:75 ratio (there will be greater ratios of combat in the future, since the party is getting stronger). I enjoy working with players to integrate their characters into the world, though this is a lethal campaign with several forces. Sessions last until the party decides they are at a good stopping point or less than half the party is present. Sessions usually last 3.5 hours, though the last session ended after only 2 hours and one session lasted a full 5.5 hours. Here's what you need to know: The party is level 11 , and thus you will be level 11 I allow all WotC material, including UA and VGtM Homebrew must be approved of by me, and I approve of nearly any reasonable homebrew If you want to play something truly avant-garde (like a Gelatinous Cube Sorcerer), I would love to talk to you Come up with a basic backstory, as I will want to work your character into the plot The campaign has a lot of traveling and politics involved This is a lethal campaign, so beware of bringing in special snowflakes The party uses Skype currently, though we are considering using Discord On one last note, this campaign has some very odd NPCs. If you are okay with the party interacting with the Interdimensional Mafia on various occasions, beings friends with a shy, jumpy, and friendly lich, trying to recruit the werehuman wyvern they met in Session 1, and being the high priests of a cult called the Order of the Rainbow, then you'll fit in just fine!
