GM Gauging Interest / Seeking Party - Mutants and Masterminds 2nd Edition - Dragon Ball themed game

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Children at Heart of all ages..... Since some of my youngest days running around my grandparents house, watching cartoons, and wishing I could be an awesome hero, the world of Dragon Ball has always held a place in my heart. Starting from the days of Goku and Bulma exploring the world together, through the terrible Red Ribbon Army, past the introduction of King Piccolo, and into the years following as Goku learned the truth of his powers as a member of mighty alien race of warriors.... I've always wanted to a true adventure in the world of the Dragon Balls. To that, I have decided to run a story using Mutants and Masterminds to create a special kind of tale taking place years and years after the events of Dragonball Z, ignoring the events of GT and Super. I am looking for a group of players for a less than light-hearted adventure to explore a world where the mystical Dragon Balls exist and can grant the gatherer their greatest desire. Along the way they will be met by villains seeking fortune of their own, and powerful martial artists with their own agendas.  This game will start at a relatively low power level, and slowly build into a viable "Super Hero" level campaign. Players will likely start at PL5 with as many as 75PP to build their characters. Progress of the game will be slower than most, offering additional power points at the cost of less frequently raising the overall Power Level.  If I can get two to three serious players interested in playing a far more serious take on the Dragon Ball universe, I will begin putting together and making more information available. But for now, this is an idea I'd like to see if is viable in this community.
That sounds like a lot of fun. Consider me interested.
Evening, Darren!  Going to go ahead and reply here just to bump my thread back up to the top.  I appreciate the interest in the game. I'd really like to get one more person to join in on this kind of a game. While I don't mind running a game for only one player, and Mutants and Masterminds does certainly offer that potential if scaled well, I don't think this is a story that would lend itself well to only a single adventurer. I really hope to have at least one more interested player so that we can discuss some potential characters, goals, and agendas!
While I'm assuming that this is a voice game, I may as well ask...  voice or text?
I'm open to using voice if the party prefers. I personally feel that text games serve better with their logs, and using personal/OOC discussion by voice.
I'd be interested, but I'm only able to play by text.  I could *try* to listen to others talking, OOC or not, but it's likely that I'd be asking for people to repeat themselves often. Would all of the characters be martial artists, or would other character designs be possible?
I would assume that most characters are going to be martial artists .... direct combatants in some way. You're welcome to PM me if you have a concept you'd like me to consider, however.
Hello, I haven't played any D&D style games before unfortunately but I have done quite a lot of narrative roleplaying on various websites and have enjoyed it a lot, also watched a lot of roleplay shows on youtube and would like to give something like this a go if you'd be willing to teach me the rules as we play. thanks Muir
I'd be interested, but I'm only able to play by text as well , i haven't played Mutants & Masterminds before but i am willing to learn
I too am interested in this DBZ themed M&M game. Is sounds like too much fun to pass up. However, i have only played M&M 3rd edition, so I will need some help to get my feet off the ground, and while i am ok with a text base game i am slow at typing. But if you don't mind teaching my the old ways of M&M and if you got the patience for my text responses; i'd like to join if you have any room left.
