Yeah, I realized after the fact, that I should have moved the negotiations to verbal after introductions instead of dicking around with text. Sorry about that. Also: I am beginning to question the wisdom of running an evil campaign with this group. Our negotiation and weaseling skills all suck! xD

Our negotiation and weaseling skills all suck! xD To be fair, a lot of negotiating will likely be simply "attack and kill." lmao.  I liked this session, even though our encounter with the Neverwinter cops was pretty ridiculous. I think we kind of forget how to interact with people since we've been killing things to protect the town and our friends. Though, I'm not exactly sure how much better we could have done since, had we allowed Elvalur to be taken in, we'd have had to choose to either go after him to break him out or leave him and go after Gundren's brother/hunt down the spider. At least, those seem like the options we would have had if Elvalur was taken into custody.  And, just to note that I feel Sigrun trying to step in to give Elvalur a chance to escape falls in her Chaotic Good alignment, since she's of the view that to do good, sometimes, you have to break the rules or at least bend them significantly. To her, Elvalur is a friend who's saved her life and fought along side her AND he's being wrongfully accused, so breaking the rules is justified to save a good man. Anyway, that's her justification (and mine), and I *think* it falls within her Chaotic Good alignment, but I guess that's up to you, O Wise DM.  (Also, Sigrun really would like that mace. >.>)

May lead to fight with cops or a smack to the head. Both are bad. -Never use clothes or water on oil fires. -Clerics are awesome. Especially Sigrun. -Naeris does feel fear. Had two weeks to think and still didn't know what to do in that situation with Elvalur haha Thought about running from the start, but that would look bad. So I wanted to talk, to see where it goes. Then I thought about submitting myself, but after hearing Fenneros' name, Elvalur wouldn't trust the cops. And Raynor and Sigrun going vocal to help, at that point, I guess the best choice was running. And thank you too Naeris for casting fear so they wouldn't track me :) Didn't want a fight because Elvalur IS trying to be a good guy. Really excited to next week :D

I bet that if I'd been playing my paladin instead of Naeris, he'd have been able to talk everyone down and diffuse the situation before it went nuts. And maybe even negotiate a compromise of some sort that would allow Elvalur to help deal with the spider without pissing off the cops. But well, I'm playing Naeris and her negotiation strategy is more like: menace the thing 'til it goes away, runs away or dies. As it was, she was just baffled that both Raynor and Sigrun managed to do so badly at the talky-thing she's been trusting them to do. xD And since Elvalur so clearly didn't want to go with the cops, of course she would do everything in her power to help him escape. ;D Oh yeah, and Sigrun on fire was seriously the funniest thing ever! Everyone was all panicking and Sigrun was like: Guys, it's okay I can handle it! And then she goes and rolls in more burning oil! :'D

And then she goes and rolls in more burning oil! :'D Haha, that was more of a Shelly oversight than Sigrun because it did not occur to me there would be an oil puddle at her feet. I figured it was dirt and Stop, Drop and Roll would work. ALAS. XD It was pretty funny. lol
-How to make a distraction to give your companion a chance to escape -how to effectively deal with the enemy with a few minor problems The fire was an unexpected comical moment that I'll remember for awhile, I was dying of laughter. First it was Zaradur kicking the door down and hurting Sigrun in the process then this...Zaradur feels bad lol We should at least do a trial run for the evil campaign! (:
Just to figure out what's going on with those special items from the session - Zaradur has those boots, no doubt about that then there's the morning star (which I can't remember the stats) and the +1 breastplate (with an added effect although I can't remember it at the moment something relating to dodging dragon breath I think) As for the morning star, I do remember it added Radiant Damage, but I'm not sure as to what the other characteristics of it are, so from the general type it sounds like a Sigrun kind of weapon, but just wanted to verify that one (I know that Elvalur, Naeris, and Raynor wouldn't get much use out of it) But I think the big question was in regards to the breastplate.  I know that's medium armor so Elvalur and Naeris can't really wear it. Which leaves the rest of us to figure it out: I figured we could kind of just hand it over to whomever could use it most. The Breastplate is 15 AC (including its benefits) + Dex (up to 2) which means it's at least 15 AC with no Dex, and 17 AC if you have at least 14 Dex I know Zaradur has Unarmored Defense, but until his combined Dex and Con modifiers are high enough, that might be useful for him (not sure as to your current AC from existing stuff/current Unarmored Defense) Not sure about Sigrun and Helm's AC (I think you both mentioned Chain Mail but not sure, if so that would be 16 AC making it a difference of 1, but feel free to correct me there) Raynor is currently at 16 AC with his studded leather and Dex bonus, but he will be increasing the Dex at level 8 and getting the Dragon Leather made into some studded leather armor as soon as he has the opportunity (he sees it as conquering some of his fear from being captured, but really owning the victory against Venomfang).  Not sure what kind of bonuses might happen with the studded dragon leather, but until that's made the difference between his current armor and the breast plate is only 1 AC at least until level 8, so I don't think he would get a ton of benefit from it, compared to what someone else might get. If everyone's even my vote would be for either Helm as a front liner who didn't happen to just get some jumping boots, or Sigrun as our healer since we definitely have to make sure she doesn't go down.  But if Zaradur can get more than a 1 AC difference from it until his Unarmored Defense passes what it would give, then I would vote for him just to get the most use out of it.   That's just my vote though, either way, I think it would probably benefit Raynor pretty minimally so he doesn't really need it too badly.
Right now, Sigrun's AC is 18.
Zeaa said: Right now, Sigrun's AC is 18.  Is that with a shield? and I know you don't have the highest dex, would it provide the additoonal +2 Dex Modifier?
That is with shield. ATM, my Dex modifier is -1, so 8.
I think Zaradur getting the breastplate sounds like an excellent idea since his current AC is 13
