The issue: Dishonest/New players. Currently, out of combat, a player can move a token as far as they wish, and shift it to any place on the map. Not normally an issue, unless dynamic lighting is enabled, in which case a player can 'sneak' a preview of what's in store for them with a flick of the wrist, or for new players who lose their tokens behind FoW. The big issue comes with movement on a campaign map 'per day' or movement in combat 'per round'. Whilst a shrewd GM or good-natured players will inform someone if they're stepping further than they should be able to, it is still a hassle to remember exactly how far each character is able to move. The fix: Max movement. Simply have the tokens be unable to be shifted (By their player) further than a specific radius around their current location - The new waypoint system makes this idea far more feasible. Another perk for those with dynamic lighting, would be to stop tokens from moving through solid walls, possibly put in place with the same system as the dynamic lighting walls. Possible additions: - Give a 'maximum movement' attribute to the token which allows the GM or player to customize how far their piece moves per turn (squares/hexes or ft/m). - Make the 'token leash' effect only happen when the turn tracker is up, allowing for free exploration out of combat, but restricted movement during. - An opt-out for experienced/honorable players.
