Marvel Heroic Role-play Cortex System

I am looking for people who like to role-play. The game I like to run is Fun First, Story Second, and Rules Third. You dont have to be an actor or writer, just willing to add to the story beyond, "I whack it." If you're not familiar with MHRP that is okay, just bring your enthusiasm and love for super heroes.  MHRP is designed to be more of dramatic style game vs the old TSR Marvel which was more sandbox.  Marvel Heroic doesnt use 'campaigns' like DnD does for example; the play is laid out as an "Event".  And Event is broken down into Story Arcs/Scenes/Action Panels. The story I want to tell starts out with Deadpool and Hydra Bob.  And a second intro arc involving Captain America, Wolverine and Black Widow.  As the story grows so will the Heroes available to play.   This could be a small group rotating Hero data files during sessions or this may turn into 12 or so people playing in groups of 3 - 5 telling a tale up to the final epic battle. If I find a good group of people who like the game and are comfortable with each other, I would like to also consider podcasting or streaming our play. The type of play I am looking for is like the folks from Graphomania and Earth 405 (Google it as a link is probably not allowed).  1 hour podcast of fun folks playing Marvel Heroic. Time Zones.  I live in Wisconsin, the CMT zone.  I work second shift Monday through Friday 2:30pm to 1:30 am.  I am currently off of work for another 2 weeks.  Depending on who is all interested, will try to make plans on when we all can play.  Normally this comes down to weekends because of my work schedule.

Am I understanding correctly that the players will be using pre-created characters and not their own? Given the impact such a decision will have on whom might be interested, it will probably need to be spelled out very clearly, one way or another.

Hmm i might be up for it if the time lines up, but yeah the OC vs Cannon Character is a big thing for some people, I know theres alot of possible characters online plus some writups for DC characters too,

Original or canon characters, I imagine if you  start a new group with these guidelines you'll be hemorraging player applications by the end of the weekend. 

The podcast people I mention called Earth 405 because they created their own twist on Earth 616, Marvel Canon.  For instance, the woman playing Captain America in Earth 405 is the daughter of Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter :).  So the story arc I want to run isnt 100% Cannon.   Yeah when I use to run TSR Marvel back in the day the first question always asked was, "Can we make our own characters?" :) Not going to get into that lengthy debate of pros and cons. I have an idea in mind and I am hitting up hometown circles, Meetup, Google+, Roll20 groups for players. But yep.  I am looking for Deadpool and Hydra Bob Captain America, Wolverine, Black Widow Other possible/eventual choices: Ironfist, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Punisher, Misty Knight, Black Cat, Dagger, Moon Knight, Black Panther, X23, Psylocke, Dr Strange, Ironman I have already created a My Game months ago where I have brought in files and a few images and home made tokens to aid in play. Marvel Heroic Role Play was part of Margaret Weiss productions.  The game had a short shelf life.  Books arent made/sold anymore save any one can find online or used book store.  There is Cortex Hero game being made for 2017.  But as far as MHRP create your own character goes, the system was never really designed for that.  It can be done, but all one is doing is pulling details from existing Marvel data files to create their version of whatever. Also, I have yet to GM a MHRP but I have been able to play with a group on Google+ past couple of weeks since I have been off from work for surgery.  In a few weeks I have to go back to work and they always play on Thurs nights.  So that will end for me soon.  So new platers is no biggie.  Just looking for players who enjoy Marvel and willing to describe the action rather than talk math and dice rolls. :)

Affiliations wise, the first one fits best....hes not much on a team and seems to work best with a Buddy from his comic runs. Maybe D10 Buddy, D8 Solo, D6 Team. Distinction wise: Merc with a Mouth, Completely Unpredictable, Death Wish would work maybe. Depends how you interpret them, since not sure if there should instead be one for how life is always kicking him back down. Ability Wise: Merc Gear (Grey one) Covers all his usual Tricks, maybe mixed a little with Toys for Boys, the Weapon X AuG from the Blue one seems to fit well, though maybe throw the unpredictable one it. Specialties wise: White one, If Menace is what he would use for his distracting quips etc...hes kinda done alot but i think most of the Crime stuff is covered by covert. Milestones: Never Can Tell, and although the more 4th walls one would fit, Im not sure if theres any for his more Life kicking him down alot/more serious moments. Just from looking over them, i guess its everyone has there own picture of a character. Deadpool to me i always liked with the rare moments of sanity/serious parts to balance out the crazy (Plus the moments were you genuinely feel sorry for him ie When he thought his Daughter was dead with cap/wolverine)
