Copy characters from one campaign (Free Account) to another (Pro)

My group just had one of its members move away and we decided to switch to an online system.  The problem is that one of my members decided to start a 'game' to try it out and they used that to play around, create their characters, etc.  They spent hours on creating custom macros and such for their characters. The problem is that, as the GM, I wanted some of the advanced features.  So I paid for a plus account.  Upon reading that I can only move stuff from one game to another with the pro account, I upgraded again.  (I'm more than happy to pay for a good product!)  However, it appears that I still can't move their characters over from the free game to my campaign.  Do I really need to tell my characters to redo all their work?  (Are the extra features worth it or should I just cancel the subscription and play in the existing game with those limitations?)  Thanks for the info!

The Transmogrifier can only  copy content between games that you are the GM of. However, for characters, you have another option: under tools/character vault, you can export characters you have access to from your friend's campaign into the vault, and then put them into your own game. (Sadly, this will not work for any content other than characters). The Vault is a Plus feature, so you don't need to Pro for it. On the other hand, Pro opens up API scripts for lots of awesome feature extensions!

Hey Jakob, thanks for being both very prompt and awesome.  I didn't see the vault in any of my readings.  Took me a bit to figure out how to use it but it seems to have done the job perfectly.  I just sent an email to my players telling them that they're in a new game world and it should be awesome.  (Plus, dynamic lighting... woot) Thanks again!

Strider, here is all the information about the  vault in our wiki. I would recommend you reading up on it also for you will have a setting to click on in your game (outside the game on the detail page) so that your game will accept vault characters. Work around for npc's & monsters: If there is any character sheets in the original game, have the GM assign them to you so that you can import them to your vault then export them to your game. That will save you time and effort of rebuilding those sheets.
Will do.  Thanks!
