Send off to a Great Warrior Sizi (Half Orc female fighter) started by Paul on August 11, 2016. She died from "Liquify" on December 6, 2016. She was 20 years old.
R.I.P - Birgitta. Priestess Of Hel.
No offense guys but this was probably all that was left of Sizi... Yeah "too soon" I know...
haha
Waiting in the dark Nell is impatient, perhaps the intervention of a spider. The passage way was blocked with heavy stone, the stones looked to have been conjured and then thrown into place. Nell touched one and noticed a space between them, perhaps she could tunnel her way through the rocks. She lent against the door way and listen to the sounds of fighting above her, even if she could tunnel her way through what good would it do her? She would have to face whatever had placed the stones and if it was anything like the other enemies she had faced, she would die. Her ears twitched as she heard a scuttling sound, a spider skittered down the side of the wall and stopped level with her face. It was black and furry with a red almost human looking mask face outlined in red fur on its abdomen. Nell watched as it started to spin a web, dropping a strand down underneath it. Only to then gather it up and move on, beginning to make it's web. “Well I guess I wait” Nell muttered to herself, the spider did not answer. The spider made a hissing noise as though trying to speak and a woman watching through its eyes smiled. “You have almost defeated the evil benders, do not loose hope now” she said. “Oh Goddess Arachnie, I pray you help these brave people. If I cannot intervene, then send them your power!” The priestess prayed with her eyes closed, a spider on her shoulder spinning web into her hair......

A new business, the foundation of an Empire. The Gentleman’s Rest had been open for a couple of days now and things where quiet. Starting a new venture would always be risky and the uptake slow at first, Nell had however chosen her girls cunningly. She had hired an Elf two Humans and a Dwarf, each one was easy on the eye but had other talents too. She stood in the only unused upstairs room looking out of the window and down the street, grey ash fell through the air like a polluted snow obscuring her view. She felt her Kimono move slightly around her waist as shape settled within, she stilled it with a pat of her hand against the moving area. Laughter from the room next door sounded through the wall and Nell pushed the window open. The air was cold not much sun was getting through the ash cloud that was being belched from the Volcano she had heard about. She and her companions would have to deal with that at some point. Her mind turned to her companions for a moment; they were a strange lot to be sure. However she did like them, they had stuck with her more than anyone else had before. One seemingly more than the others, the Holy man of Helm had set up a new temple near to The Gentleman’s Rest. She had noticed its workers and some of its worshippers using her establishment’s services. She wondered if Jacob had intentionally set it up close to where she was, perhaps he was trying to convert her to Helm? “Not a chance, sorry Helm.” She commented “I’m not that kind of girl.” She pulled the window closed and snapped the lock shut, her meetings with the local military governor had gone very well indeed. She had not had to resort to violence to get what she wanted, planting seeds in the leaders perceptions of her. She pulled open the door to her room and stepped outside, shutting the door and locking it. The laugher from the next room had stopped, Nell’s keen senses could make out and angry exchange taking place. She neared the door and listened trying to make out what was being said. The room had fallen silent so Nell merely shrugged and made to walk away, she had only taken a few steps before she heard the sound of a glass breaking. Nell span on her heel and rushed over to the door, planting a kick dead centre. The doors all had mock locks; the purpose of this was to give the clients a sense of privacy and the girls a means of escape. The door opened with a bang, a human male had Summer by the throat. He had lifted her off her feet and into the air; Summer was not moving and hung there like a rag doll. “Drop her, now” Nell commanded, the room smelled of cheap ale. A rule had been broken and this was the result. The man turned as he dropped Summer to the floor, Nell could see she was alive but unconscious. Summer had fallen in a heap near a large empty bottle of Dwarven ale; Nell advanced into the room and motioned to the door. “Out, now.” She planted her hands on her hips “none treats my girls like that.” The man blinked and staggered a little and started towards Nell. “I paid for en Elf!” He grinned and looked Nell up and down “I’m gonna have me an Elf!” Nell felt her pulse quicken as the man advanced towards her, she considered escaping the room but that would leave Summer in there alone. She stood her ground. “Don’t make me hurt you outlander” Nell said dropping into a fighting stance, She had noticed his accent was not Portlandian. He must be a traveller or perhaps a sailor from the dock a stone’s throw away. The man grunted and charged her, he was only a couple of feet away and crossed the space faster than Nell had anticipated. His hands reached out and grasped her by the throat; Nell grabbed his wrists reflexively and was lifted into the air. Nell lacked brute strength to force this man’s hands apart or to wrestle herself free; she might have suffered Summers fate. Nell fought as much with her cunning as with her blades, as the man’s fingers tightened on her throat he felt a sharp slicing pain lancing his fingers. Nell’s ear blades cut deep into the man’s fingers nicking the bones; he cried out and dropped Nell. She landed deftly on her feet as he wrung his hands unsure what had happened. With a great bellow he curled his hands into fists and threw a punch at Nell’s face. She easily avoided the drunken strike with a twist of her body; his other hand grasped at the shoulder of her kimono and pulled her up close to him. Nell could smell the dwarven ale on his breath, a kind of stale barrel scent. She wrinkled her noise and turned away, the smell making her gag. Nell felt her kimono moving as a familiar presence made its way up her back and over her shoulder. Her Kimono parted just below her collarbone and the man looked down at the movement. Yellow reptilian eyes stared out from the darkness preceded by a sharp hiss. A snake emerged from Nell’s Kimono drawing itself up to the man’s eye level, the man just stared blankly at the creature unsure what was happening. The snake struck him, spitting venom into the man’s eyes. At this close range there was no chance it would miss its mark and his eyes where covered in a yellowish burning substance. The man squealed and dropped to his knees his eyes exploding with a burning agony, the sight in them falling to darkness. Nell ran her hand over the snake’s head and smiled watching the man scrubbing at his eyes. The snake tasted the air with its forked tongue and then returned to the depths of Nell’s Kimono to the warmth of her body. Nell lent over the man and whispered into his ear menacingly as he rubbed his burning eyes. “You never touch a woman like that, never again” She slipped her hand behind her ear and removed the ear blade there, holding it like a razor. “The docks is my town now” She took the blade and placed her free hand on the top of his head, ignoring the dirty hair beneath her palm. “You don’t move, you don’t cry out or I’ll cut your throat and throw you in the sea” She said, meaning every word. She did not wait for an answer, taking the blade and cutting an “N” into the man’s right cheek, the blood dripped onto the floor as she marked him, she angled the blade so it would leave a scar. “You don’t talk about this to anyone, unless you want them to know an Elf Madam beat you in a fight” Nell walked over to a cupboard in the room and took out a piece of cloth, wrapping it around the man’s head to cover the wound. “I’m in a good mood, so you live today.” She led him outside and started down the street towards the new temple of Helm. “Your sight will return, get help in the temple for your wound” Nell stopped outside the temple and looked around. None was walking the ash covered streets at this hour. “Get healed ask for Jacob but do not have the scar removed, you do, I find you and finish the job.” She slipped the ear blade back into place behind her ear. “Spread the word, Nell runs the docks and none hurts women here. They do, they carry my mark.” She turned and started to walk away from the man, leaving him for the temple to tend to. She smiled and opened the coin purse. She would give these to Summer and have a word with her about drinking in the rooms. Later that day she sent word out to every footpad, cut purse and bandit in the Docks. Women where off limits, anyone broke this rule would have a bounty put on their heads to be marked with “N”. (Nell in her Madam clothing, with Snake)

+1 to Lex for Nell kawaii goodness!
hehe hell yeah. I'm practising my art but it sucks so hard. when its good enough i'll do my own.
The Gentleman's Rest in Summer's hands. Nell hugged her head girl Summer and handed her the keys to the Gentleman's Rest. "I don't know how long I am going to be away" She tilted her head to the side. "I trust you Summer, run this place as I would." Summer nodded to Nell, the girls real name would never be spoken within the building and all the girls were instructed to never give their names out. Each girl was named after a season. Summer lent back against one of the serving tables and flashed a smile "Of course boss, what if you don't come back?" Nell chuckled and smiled "I have left the place to you four equally, as was our deal. But I will be back with treasure a plenty" The two Elves embraced again and Nell hefted her Bender's branding iron, it always smoking and red hot. She pulled down the Oni mask to cover the red paint that was daubed on her forehead to imitate the markings of it's last owner and turned to the door. Nell was a perfect imposter for a fire bender, her aura smelt of hot coals and burning wood. Her enchanted kimono radiated a gentle warmth, Her snake coiled around her slender waist and slept. "remember, any trouble and call in the lads. Make examples, you hear?" Nell said over her shoulder. Stepping out into the streets she could smell the docks and all they had to offer, she made her way down the street and glanced at the Temple of Helm that had sprung up near by. Though she did not have a relationship with Helm she still bowed her masked head at the temple and moved on towards the docks. She was to meet with the rest of the companions and she would not be late, reaching into her Kimono she took a slender pipe and lit the end with the sleeve of the kimono, its heat enough to ignite the herbs within. She was determined to prove herself.
Baradin's Journal - Mid Winter   This year has been one of constant travel... From Alwa-Avignon to the orcish city of Kriba-Hai. I b arely had enough time to seized Harlepen's Keep from the Black Knight and inventory its wealth; before being whisked away to the Tower of Descent... The Lady knows how many weeks we spent in that infernal place... Filled with traps, puzzles, and vengeful spirits... Despite it all, we managed to stop the Water & Earth bender's invocations and free the captive Galeb-Duhr (protectors of Portlandio).  Now we prepare to set sail to the far off lair of the Fire-bender; located deep within the heart of an active volcano. It will be our most arduous journey yet... With several months of hard winter sailing and weeks of overland travel... Followed by days of scouting our enemy's fortress. Lady willing we'll get in and out without too many problems. I don't cherish the idea of being trapped inside as everything erupts... Either way this is a do or die quest. If we fail... Portlandio... An entire continent... will burn in fire and brimstone. If we manage to survive, I plan on settling down and establishing a fiefdom with the other Challengers. Maybe I'll find a young lady to marry and have several children of my own...

Frozen decks, unforgiving seas Vriska moved out of the ships hold, leaving the very large man alone. He seemed to be unsettled by her presence. Her spiders settled into hair, instinctively avoiding the cold. Since the volcano had belched this seemingly never ending ash cloud the temperature had dropped. She walked out into the falling ash, the wind bit at her cheeks and made the scar running over her left eye ache. Her hair did not whip in the wind as it was as always bound by strong spider thread, at a distance the webbing was not obvious due to her hair being as white as snow. A gift from her Father's blood. Fortunately she had not inherited his bluish skin, people tended to react badly to Drow. Vriska looked more like her mother, to an untrained eye she appeared to be a young human. A strange scar ran over her eye and had blinded it. Lolth had not favoured her, she had failed her trial of the spider ritual. Her father had blamed the human blood in her veins and for her own safely commanded her to leave. Vriska watched the other travellers on this vessel, they were headed to the volcano as well as she. Perhaps they would welcome her company. She had brought a supply of herbs and healing ointments, from what she had heard they may need them. She rested a hand on her Icon, a Puff ball mushroom that hung on a chain around her neck. Lolth may not have accepted her as a Priestess but she had found another way to commune with the spiders. Word was one of the party had been eaten alive by a sea dragon, Vrishka was not shocked by this. To go into the den of one of nature's monsters was to court disaster. She knew, as a Grey Druid that some natural creatures were not to be tangled with. She felt the ash starting to coat her robe and shook her shoulders, sending a flurry of grey onto the deck. She needed to find the leader of this group and offer her services if she was to save her silk farm.
Torhild Gunnivor raised the large gold horn to her lips and blew hard, a deep resounding boom of sound rolled out across the freezing waves. She waited a few moments and sighed. A Viking could expect to be taken by the sea, it was a fate men of her kin had faced. Torhild however had other things to do, many stories to recount and songs to be sung. She could see the great ploom of smoke and ash spewing from the volcano she had come to investigate.  "Well, seems I might not be making it today." She raised the horn to her lips and blew again, hoping a passing ship might hear before her own wrecked one sank into the frozen depths.

Spiders at sea A Goddess's command The voyage had begun to take its toll on the passengers. The nights had become bitter cold with interruptions of sharp hail filled rain, the days were an ash filled twilight. Vrishka was unsure what would happen should the volcano fully erupt but imagined it would be a kin to what they were experiencing, it would however last forever. The crew and passengers had taken refuge in the galley; they had seemed to be in good cheer until the death of one of their number and then the malady had struck. Each one of them had begun to act in a negative way, almost as though the longer they spent on this ship the more removed from their natural state they became. Vrishka had taken refuge in the Hold, amongst the barrels and storage crates. It was here she had set up her shrine. The hold was a touch warmer than the rest of the ship, her three spiders much preferred it down here. Vrishka fished the three out of her snow white hair and placed them on a nearby crate. All three watched her with their many eyes as she slipped off her robes and left them in a heap on the creaking deck. To anyone with knowledge of the Under Dark her Drow blood would be apparent, the slight bluish tinge to her skin, her lithe limbs and ruined purple eyes. Vrishka concentrated and dropped to all fours, hair sprouting from all over her skin. She looked up at her three spiders and slowly blinked; when her eyes opened again they were as black as onyx. Webbing began to encase her as she changed; the small spiders went about their business skittering away from the crate. A fully grown giant spider emerged from the silken cocoon, its many eyes blinking in unison. Vrishka could feel the rain hitting the ship through the tiny vibrations in the deck, her white fur rippled as she felt the urge to go hunting for warm bodies to be liquefied and drank. She pushed down the urge and span a web, the web was complex and took the better part of a day. When done it seemed to be impossible to look at the strands weaved at seemingly impossible angles, trying to follow the lines of web would cause nausea and a sense of wrongness. Vrishka plucked on one strand and was satisfied with the web’s complexity, she did not want to meet with her Goddess and suffer the humiliation of having a web of poor design. She shifted out of spider form and felt a cold draft coming from the decks above, having a fur coat was useful at times. Gathering her pouches she took out some Under Dark herbs and a grinder. Vrishka sat cross legged and started to grind the herbs up in the small stone grinder, she could hear some raised voices coming from the galley. “Oh dear, too much time alone” she said as she commanded one of her small spiders to skitter over to the hold door and leap onto the latch, locking it. She did not want to be disturbed while communing with her Goddess, she found other people found surprise nudity and spiders difficult to handle. “Ah good” She looked over at the smallest of her spiders, a black one with no markings. “It’s ready, be a dear and fetch my pipe” The spider obeyed, going into her discarded robe and threw a noose of web around the end of a long oriental looking black lacquered ladies pipe. The spider dragged it over to her obediently. “Thank you New, now off you go and catch you’re supper. There’s a good boy” She started to pack the end of the pipe with the herbs and raised it to her lips. The end of the pipe sparked into flames and a sweet musky smell filled the hold, Vrishka took a long slow draw of the herb filled smoke and closed her eyes. She felt her body relaxing and her heart rate climb, her skin started to prickle as though the room was getting warm. She knew it was a false heat and that it would not last, but she enjoyed it. The herbs started to infuse her body, sending a rush of joy through her veins. She opened her eyes. The ship was gone, she sat in another place. She appeared to be in one of the Demi-planes. Elysium, she had entered the Twilight Garden a place of impossible beauty. The garden was lit by a twilight that bore a visage so wonderful that mortals are momentary blinded by its magnitude. It was this garden that had ruined her eyesight and Vrishka bore the blindness as a blessing; this was not her first time in the garden. “My daughter, why are you here?” Arachne spoke as a Goddess her voice as true and clear as shafts of light through clouds. Vrishka knelt and turned her palms upward not looking apon her Goddess. “I need guidance; I travel to a volcano and fear what will happen” “You or all of those around you will die, or live. But of the volcano, should the evil being done there not be stopped your over world will be as dark and cold as the Under Dark.” The goddess spoke matter of factly as though instructing a child how best to tie their shoes. “What am I to do? What do you will my Goddess?” Vrishka asked head still bowed. “Accompany the adventuring party, without you some or all will die. But more importantly you must stop the evil being done there. Everything else is of no concern. Use your talents for healing and banish the evil” Vrishka felt a hand on the top of her head, the touch was one of a Mother to a child, yet it both thrilled and terrified her in equal mesure. “It will be so” Vrishka whispered. The Garden fell away and the ship rushed back under her kneeling form, she stood and tipped the now herbal ash out of her pipe and gathered her robe. Slipping it back on she called her three spiders, they skittered back into her hair and went about the business of weaving webs into it. Vrishka shivered in the now cold Hold and went to the door, placing her hand and on the latch she pushed the door open. As an icy blast of chill wind buffeted her form she pulled the hood of her robe over her head to keep the ash out of her eyes. She now had a purpose and a spiritual quest, the evil being done in that volcano would end. (One of Goddess Arachne's forms)                                                        (Vrishka getting high on herbs with her pipe, not exactly her but closest pic i could find)
