Wintermeet in Phandalin (RP thread)

(Hey guys! The winter holidays are just as cherished in Faerun as they are in  our world. This thread will give y'all the opportunity to play out some of Wintermeet in character, interacting with each other and your friends in Phandalin. No character advancement or intrigue here, just opportunities for your characters to know each other and the townspeople they interact with on the daily.) Outside the Stonehill Inn, in the small town of Phandalin, a peaceful Wintermeet scene is set: snow gently falls over the town, covering the inn in a soft white blanket. The Phandalin children play in the snow in the town square, their shouts and laughter muted and softened by the snowfall. Through the windows, the hearthfire burns brightly, and the building's facade is hung with evergreen wreaths and lanterns covered in festively colored papers. Inside, however, there is a loud BANG and a emphatic curse. Toblen, Stonehill's proprietor and namesake, doesn't even look up from the spiced wine he is mulling on the wood stove. At this point, Zaradur and Helm's armwrestling matches don't disturb the gathered townsfolk in the slightest. The mood remains festive and cheerful, the hot cider and mulled wine plentiful, and the fresh-baked hollycakes delicious. Naeris sits at the table between Zaradur and Helm, watching the ongoing competition with a glass of sherry, her blackened eye, and a tipsy grin. In the table at the corner, Raynor, Sigrun, and Elvalur sit with Linene, talking about adventure, religion, and business at the coster as Elvalur lazily slings throwing knives at the target painted on the nearby wall, his rapier floating next to him. The mood is warm, relaxed, and convivial.
(Well then, don't mind if I do. I really like this idea. :D) "Another win for Helm. You're falling behind, Zaradur. Looks like you're no match for the dwarf," Naeris taunted, smirking as she sipped her drink.
Zaradur let's out an irritated scream of defeat while hitting the table with both of his fists, after cooling down for a few seconds and gulping down whatever little was left in his mug, he says "I must admit dwarves are built strong like their stone homes, but one day with experience I will be stronger than any well built dwarf!" then he lifts his mug and screams "barmaid, another round!"
Helm nervously reises his mug to Naeris with an unsure smile.
Zaradur laughs and with his free hand brings Helm in for a side hug then says "You're a dwarf I can count to be by my side on the front lines watching my back!" Zaradur widen his eyes and says "I just remember something, I'll ne right back" as he leaves in a hurry, still carrying his neand new mug of ale.
Naeris calmly returns Helm's smile and raises her own glass. "Both stronger and more reliable. You've a long way to go yet, Zaradur. A long, long way!" She watches Zaradur hurry off and once she's sure he's out of earshot, she leans closer to Helm. "Of course, I expect he'll get there. Eventually."
A few minutes later, Zaradur comes in carrying a giant bag over his shoulders, when he arrives to Naeris and Helm's table, Zaradur drops the bag on top of the table. While reaching inside the bag, Zaradur says "We had great battles together and this gift is just a reminder how we can take anyone and anything" then he pulls out a necklace that has a few owlbear feathers and on the bottom center, there's a dragon's tooth between two owlbear claws. Zaradur turns to Naeris and says "This is just to keep you warm and comfortable when winter comes knocking around....it was made out of a dire wolf...my mother and I killed, I hope you like it" with a warm, lost in thought smile, Zaradur pulls out a  Jet black coat and lays it next to Naeris.
Ill post the other half whenever I have the chance
Grabbing the bag, Zaradur heads towards the rest of the group and while walking towards them he lets out a loud and hearty laugh then says "I bring gifts for my new friends I consider a family". "The first gift is a quill set made out of an eagles feather dipped in gold, I sometimes see you writing in your diary, so I hope you like it, Elvalur" the next item Zaradur pulls out is none other than a Sune medallion made out of the finest tree Zaradur could find, and deatiled by a professional. While handing the medallion to Sigrun, with a wide smile, Zaradur says "I admire your dedication and selflessness for the well being of others, don't ever change". "Last but not least, Raynor I had no idea what to get you so I made a rabbit's foot charm to bring you good luck and only once you can ask me to do anything without questioning you unless it involves harming the innocent"

It's a Wintermeet miracle!)
Sigrun smiles brightly, her eyes bright and a bit watery, very obviously touched at Zaradur's thoughtfulness. Once he hands Raynor his gift, Sigrun stands up on her chair to give Zaradur a big, tight hug, and a kiss on his cheek. "Thank you so much. I love it." Then, she adds, with a little mischievous smile. "And, I forgive you for setting me on fire."
While Zaradur was distracted by Sigrun, Elvalur approached Linene and said "Get Zaradur two javelins. I'll pay you later" while giving her a note to go with it. Elvalur then stands up and goes to collect the knives he shot.

Zaradur will read the letter after receving the javelins

Sorry I'm late to the RP party holidays have been hectic... Raynor was kind of wondering how to start, but with Zaradur handing out gifts Raynor thought it time to start handing out his own gifts (actually messaged Chuck about these about a month ago, and Raynor has been running around doing odd jobs in his spare time to help make sure he can get them).  One thing Raynor is definitely not so great at is wrapping, so with some terrible wrapping he hands out items to everyone. Sigrun - Carved Wooden Osol Statuette (carved by Raynor) - Wooden Figurine of Osol enchanted by a priestess of the Godess of Protection of the Souls of Children once per day, you can cast free shield of faith (or possibly once per day, reroll an amount of healing and take the larger number) Also when holding the statuette she remembers Osol more clearly in her mind. Helm - Beard Comb of the Living Beard - once per day you can comb your beard and your next (grapple or intimdation) check has advantage. Your beard gets tired after use and needs a long rest. For Grapple the beard would come to life and wrap around intended target For Intimdation, your beard get's especially lush but something about it makes you more scary Naeris - Dark Book of Darkness - 2 options leaking out darkness once per day to blind a creature for X amount of time or tentacles leak out of the book when open to grasp nearby creature or item.  (very dangerous item but it always has an aura of dark magic about it) Elvalur Journal of Exaggeration - once per session can exaggerate feats giving bonuses (i.e. more gold gathered, more health gained, etc.), so when he writes journal entries that mention finding gold, items, resting, or something to that effect... he can Exaggerate it (to a not too over the top extent) and it will come true.  Also in your gift is a parascopic spyglass so it won't magnify but allow Elvalur to peak around corners undetected. Finally Zaradur - Ridiculous Portable Ram of the Catch Phrase - Portable Ram +4 to STR check when breaking down doors, and additionally advantage is given on the roll if used by 2 people at the same time "So play nice with Helm" *stern look* (which is just the normal Portable Ram), but what makes it Ridiculous Catch Phrase part... is that even though it can always be used by anyone, when it's attuned you can speak a catch phrase and that phrase will be said by the face carved on the front of the Ram whenever a door is broken down by it (phrase can be changed once per day). All items can be clarified by Chuck (since I don't want anything to be too over the top) and he has final say on most of these.
Elvalur opens a wide smile and yells back "Touché" as he sits and starts throwing the knives again.
Zaradur loves it but deep down he's heartbroken that Raynor's gifts are better than his.

I wouldn't take it too hard, Elves only need half as much rest as other races, so he had a bit more opportunity to go work odd jobs and get those gifts while everyone else rested up.  Plus the ability to tell Zaradur what to do at some point without question is a gift that's pretty hard to top no matter what. Suddenly Raynor has a moment of dread, thinking about how terrible the catch phrases might wind up being... realizing maybe he should have thought that enchantment through a little better...

Ooc those are some awesome gifts, can't wait to think of a catchphrase!

((*UGLY CRYING* both me and Sigrun, tbh.)) Real me smiles but Raynor would be a bit concerned that maybe it was a bit much for Sigrun to handle, and asks if it was ok? and says "I tried to get his likeness as close to the all the stories you've told me, I hope it turned out ok, and I hope it's ok that I made it, I don't want it to be to much (emotionally too much that is)"
Sigrun would hug him real tight, probably for too long, pretending she wasn't crying (she is) and reassure him that the statuette is perfect and to not worry. Then, she'd excuse herself, and spend the rest of the evening up at the manor in her room, holding the little statue to remember Osol more clearly. Best. Gift. Ever.
