Horizontal Scrolling with shift not working for me?

I recently upgraded my home PC and now I can't appear to zoom horizontally by holding shift and using the scroll wheel.  I use this functionality a lot, so I'm not sure if there is a setting anywhere anyone has experienced, the functionality works fine on other sites, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I'm using Chrome, thus far I have tried clearing temp data and disabling extensions and neither seems to be helping me very much.  Any suggestions? If not, I'll accept suggestions for other means of scrolling over the page that don't involve using the scroll bar, I already know how to do that :)

Is this horizontally scrolling on the Tabletop? Or in a Journal/Handout?
Yes, sorry, within the tabletop map itself.

I am experiencing the same problem.  I am using a PC with Windows 8 and running Roll20 in Chrome. I can Horizontal Scroll (Left & Right) the Page Toolbar with all the game table maps by holding Shift + Mouse Wheel and I can also Horizontal Scroll (Left & Right) the Game Map, if I mouse over the scroll bar at the bottom of the browser window and hold Shift + Mouse Wheel.  Then the game table scrolls left to right, but I have to have the mouse over the bottom scroll bar in the browser at all times to do this. If my mouse is anywhere directly over the game map and I try to Horizontal Scroll (Left to Right) it just Vertical Scrolls Top to Bottom. I have another PC that is running Windows 7 and when running Roll20 in Chrome, there is not a problem with this at all.  Horizontal Scrolling works on the game table just fine. Anytime I need to Horizontal Scroll on a Web Page in Chrome, the Shift + Mouse Wheel works just fine, so this has to be a Roll20 thing. HELP!  HELP!!  HELP!!!

I just discovered that if I put my mouse at the top of the game table that the Horizontal Scroll works, but only when any map items are not behind the mouse??? It basically is when the game map is scrolled vertically all the way to the top and then the mouse is over the back of the game table, not the map portion of the game table that the Horizontal Scrolling then works.  Very Odd... This does look like a Roll20 map bug.  Kristin any ideas???

I'm unsure if this was a keyboard shortcut we ever fully supported. I do notice that if my mouse is on the horizontal scroll bar a Shift+Mouse Wheel will scroll it side to side. Also, if my mouse is pointing outside the Page and in the border placed around the Page, a Shift+ Mouse Wheel will scroll left to right as well. Not, as you say, while the mouse icon is hovering over the Page itself. I'll need to discuss this with the other devs and possibly put together a bug ticket for this.
I appreciate the suggestions, MasterMJ and Kristin, that was not something I had tried!  It'll be a good workaround for the time being I think, but being able to do it natively without moving the mouse really is quite convenient, in the middle of those large maps you're zoomed in on.   Thanks again guys :)
As I dig into this a little more, the more and more I am seeing that it is a bug between Windows 8 and Roll20. You can test your own Horizontal Scrolling in here: &nbsp; <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/LifeProTips/comments/2tye" rel="nofollow">https://www.reddit.com/r/LifeProTips/comments/2tye</a>... Again, using Windows 7 in Chrome, I am able to mouse over any portion of the game map and Shift + Mouse Wheel and Horizontal Scroll (Left to Right) as expected. &nbsp;For me it looks like some sort of interface problem between Windows 8 and Roll20. I don't have a PC with Windows 10, but if someones does please chime in if it works or not...
Master MJ said: I don't have a PC with Windows 10, but if someones does please chime in if it works or not... Chrome on Windows 10 here. Roll20 is the only site that seems to conflict with it. I can still access by shift-scrolling over the bottom scrollbar.

Thank you for the additional observations and prodding everyone. I'll ask the coders about this next week when they're back from the weekend.
Windows 7 here! &nbsp;Its less precise than I want, but I had completely forgotten about middle mouse clicking and then navigating via the mouse. &nbsp;Thanks MMJ for the link. &nbsp;Another workaround :)
I also discovered that you can Shift + Mouse Wheel and Horizontal Scroll Handouts. &nbsp;So the Horizontal Scrolling works in everything else on Roll20, but the Game Map area using Windows 8 or Windows 10. &nbsp;For me, I have not found a place where I can not Shift + Mouse Wheel Horizontal Shift using Chrome everywhere else, but Roll20 on the Game Map. &nbsp; HELP!!

Definitely a bug if it has stopped working. I have been using Chrome's shift + scroll to horizontal scroll for as long as I have been using Roll20. It's why I use chrome and not firefox.

The Shortcut Right Mouse Button + Drag to pan might present a workaround for those experiencing these issues.
This seems to be related directly to the version of Chrome. &nbsp; Shift + Mouse Wheel working: Windows 10 - 64 bit Chrome version 54.0.2840.99 Shift + Mouse Wheel not working: Windows 10 - 64 bit Chrome version&nbsp;55.0.2883.87 I'll try to test out a beta/dev version to see if it fixes the issue.
This remains a problem in Chrome Canary build as of today (57.0.2949.0).
Silvyre said: The Shortcut Right Mouse Button + Drag to pan might present a workaround for those experiencing these issues. Yeah, that would be a work around not a solution. &nbsp;Right Mouse + Drag is not as smooth and precise as the Shift + Mouse Wheel. &nbsp;The game map floats past the area that you stop at when you use Right Mouse + Drag, so you have to readjust several time before getting right to the spot on the game map you actually want. &nbsp;It is a Drag... &lt;pun intended&gt;
Kevin said: This remains a problem in Chrome Canary build as of today (57.0.2949.0). From my research, it is not a Chrome problem. &nbsp;I have been to sites that have the Horizontal Scroll bar at the bottom and Shift + Mouse Wheel works just fine.
Thanks for the research, Kevin! Master MJ said: The game map floats past the area that you stop at when you use Right Mouse + Drag Yep, it's a bit different. I like the gliding, though. :)
Silvyre said: Yep, it's a bit different. I like the gliding, though. :) To each their own. &nbsp;I have been using Shift + Mouse Wheel for horizontal scrolling since I started with Roll20. &nbsp;Please can we get a fix on this bug?
All the testing shows is that something changed in Chrome between major version 54 and 55 that caused this bit of functionality to stop working. &nbsp;Nothing else changed in the test. &nbsp;I validated that 54.X worked, I updated Chrome to 55.X and it didn't work. It could be a Roll20 issue, in which case, hopefully the information is helpful for the developers to pin down the problem. &nbsp;However as much as you believe that it isn't a Chrome issue, it very well could be (and it wouldn't be the first time there was a Chrome issue that seemed to only impact Roll20).
Yeah, from everything that I have seem and researched, it is a code problem from Chrome updating to 55.X and Roll20 coding on the game table. &nbsp;I have not found a single web site that will not Horizontal Scroll with Shift + Mouse Wheel while using the newest Chrome. I just updated my Chrome on my Windows 7 PC and now the Shift + Mouse Wheel will not Horizontal Scroll anymore.
I'm on Windows 7 using Chrome 55 as well, and can confirm that I have the issue whenever my mouse is over the actual map field in the VTT, but it functions correctly as expected when my mouse is in the area beyond the map, in the top and left sections, but not the bottom or right portions outside the field of play. Using middle mouse clicks as a workaround at present, but if at all possible, I would love to see this feature back to full functionality.&nbsp;
Echoing the others here. I can't get the horizontal scroll to work under any circumstances. Windows 10 Chrome 55.
Windows 10 chrome 55 Here, here. Fix please. Scrolling and panning are imperative for my DM style.
Win 7. Chrome. Please do fix this, it's really annoying :C
Works in general for chrome, but not on Roll20. Haven't tested many sites but so far this is the only one with the issue. I mean it's not imperative but for editing maps it made things so much easier.
Fixed for me now, thank you. Windows 10 Chrome 55

Kristin C. said: We pushed a patch to Production that should introduce this functionality formally now to the Tabletop. Yep, we are back. &nbsp; Horizontal Scroll is working again. &nbsp;Thank you very much for addressing this issue in a timely manner. Windows 8.1 Chrome 55
Yay! &nbsp;Thanks Roll20, and everyone else who complained/helped diagnose :D
I actually got to this thread because we can no longer horizontal scroll in Google Spreadsheets. I work for a game studio and use them all the time. This has become a major inconvience for the team...
