[LFP] Velvet Sin (18+, E/RP-heavy, mature, erotic / dark high fantasy)

Edited 1482230189
The world of Y'lim is an young jewel that has seen a hundred ages, many dark, and a scant few brilliant. Since time immemorial, the immortal hosts of the realms beyond the Material Plane have vied for dominance over their place in the cosmos. Fueds between Titans and Demons have torn entire worlds asunder, and wars between kings and lords have sealed the fate of civilization across a thousandfold worlds like Y'lim. Shal-ir...A name out of the oldest of ages. Legend has it that the most devout of mortals were brought to live at her side in the heavens forged by her divine hands, and used to spawn the many children that would come to be the Gods of the Y'lim. So it was that the Age of Clearing Storms came to an end, and the Age of the Sky came to be. For a thousand years, mortals proclaimed loyalty to the meddling children of Shal-ir, always competing to exalt their chosen lords or ladies in the skies above. Their faith had become so strong, that the Gods began to impart their own powers onto mortals; just as their mother had to them. It was so that the first Clerics were born; healers, warriors, and spiritual guides in the name of god and land. Slowly, Y'lim faded more and more into obscurity as Ages came and went, wars fought and won or lost... And now, the Age of Velvet has come - a time where peace is finally starting to settle in, and the people look to arts and gentler practices in a world laden with diversity. It is the time of enlightenment. ----------------- Hello and thank you for reading! Velvet Sin is a terrible, terrible mindbaby of my own creation. This game is strictly 18+ and seeks skilled roleplayers for an unusual DND experience and storytelling adventure through a storied world rife with adversity and intrigue...As well as prevalent themes that could be considered dark, taboo, and erotic. For this reason, we are seeking mature role players who can keep a straight face engaging in such activities. We will have an intense screening process to ensure the quality of our game, and for that reason, we are not willing to take new or casual players; but welcome people from all parts of the world. Our game is highly LGBTQ driven and openly embraces these wonderful people (including the DM and his friend!) - however, we are simultaneously not open to those faint of heart or easily triggered. If you have a trigger or are squeamish to visceral detail and very violent manners of taboo violence (including in character racism, sexism, and potentially rape) then this game is not for you. DISCLAIMER / CODE OF CONDUCT: By no means does the DM, or any player who will join condone or accept such actions within the context of the real world as acceptable, permissable, or dismissible. We are seeking to create a brutal, unusual story with a kinky and grimdark side purely in the context of our fictional game world, and the lives of our character. We will not abide by any of these in character actions or prejudices transferring into the out of character world. Doing so will result in an instant termination from the game. I know this has to be said, especially for those with triggers relating to such cruel events, and for that reason we seek only the most mature of roleplayers and gamers. ---- REQUIREMENTS: - Must be at least 18 years of age. - Must be respecting and considerate of others OOCly; creeps / stalkers need not apply! - Clear sounding, functional microphone. - We will be using Discord to communicate. - Familiar with the DND 5th Edition system. - Be a good role player and think with the narrative to heart. We are not seeking metagamers, powergamers, or munchkins. Optimize your character for combat, but I expect you to adhere to the context of the story to make your character. HOMEBREW / GAME RULES: - Game starts at level 3 - We roll for stats. But you get one 18 and one 10. - Homebrew races, classes and prestige classes are allowed on a case by case basis. GM must review and approve them. - Technology is pre-gunpowder. - All official sources allowed, including Unearthed Arcana. - You must roll for your hitpoints. If you get below the average, take the average instead. *Edited towards the new guidelines* ABOUT THE PLAYER Name: Christian McKinzie Age : 23 Time Zone : EST DnD Experience: 2 years of 5e, with a couple other tabletop RPGs in between Roleplaying Experience: I've been roleplaying since I was in middle school, so basically over 1 decade Story or Combat (% vs %): I've never had a preference, i've always just adapted from game to game, so whatever others choose I'm sure i'll have a blast adapting to. What does LGBTQI+ mean to you?: I believe people should love who they want to love and be with who they want to be with. I have no power over that and i don't want that power. Rights for all and all that jazz. Yay *Jazz hands* Give me a brief description of your gaming values: (i.e. what do you want most out of the games you play and what behaviors/attitudes in other players turn you off the most) : When I play a game, i'm always looking forward towards making memories that stick to my mind. A moment that when I think about it, I pause for a split second and smile. Thinking about the story I helped create, with the people I created it with. The kind of attitude/person that turns me off the most is a person that believes the rules of the system are more important than the storytelling aspect. There's nothing I hate more than someone ruining a cool moment with their sudden criticisms. ABOUT THE CHARACTERs (I'll post 3) (1) Character Name: Tristan Meadows Character Class: UA Ranger (2) Warlock (1) Character Archetype: Hunter Conclave / Patron: The Fiend Character Race: Human (Variant) Character Background: Sage Tell us about your character: (Keep it to one sentence only.): Slightly fluffy archeologist with an annoying sidekick attached to his shadow. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (2) Character Name: Orca Talbain Character Class: Rogue Character Archetype: Assassin Character Race: Changling Character Background: Charlatan (Spy) Tell us about your character: (Keep it to one sentence only.): Orca is an assassin that's capable of turning into your grandest fantasy... and your deadliest nightmare. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (3) Character Name: Quinn Garo Character Class: Monk Character Archetype: Way of The Open Palm Character Race: Human Character Background: Criminal Tell us about your character: (Keep it to one sentence only.): Quinn is an adonis with a thug exterior that fights for his beliefs to the bitter end.

Name: Lady(My real name is a bit of mouthful and better left to audio) Age: 25 and 11/12ths Time Zone: EST (UTC - 05:00) DnD Experience: Nine years in 2.0, Eight years in 3.5, Five and a half minutes in 4.0, Zero in 5.0 Roleplaying Experience: Been writing since I was 8. Been roleplaying since I was 13. I have run roleplaying guilds, live action roleplay groups, and participated in easily over 2,000 stories. From helping teach beginners to the more advanced ‘prepping for my novel’ types. So long as there is creativity and passion every story told is a joy. As for the more sexual themes of the current story, I have written dark, depraved, psychological, emotionally devastating and delicious literature on a variety of levels, I find it to be an essential spice in every truly deep tale. Story or Combat (% vs %): (In other systems I play social characters who as a rule weasel their way out of combat so for myself and my characters personally combat is plan C or D) 65/35 ABOUT THE CHARACTER Character Name: Lashiel Character Class: Bard Character Archetype: College of Vylius https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/College_of_Vylius_(5e_Archetype) Character Race: Sidhe (https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Sidhe_(5e_Race)) Character Background: Lashiel pursues her own pleasure at every turn, no man or woman can maintain her attention for that reason she travels the mortal realms, leaping from lover to lover as her attention is captured for a moment long enough to intrigue her. An icy beauty she has the skills, honed over centuries to give pleasure the likes of which few mortals have ever received, a few dalliances with succubi and incubi have taught her a few immortal tricks as well. She loves to be bathed in the attentions and lusts of the room and has no problem making a spectacle of herself. Character Details: Lash is a lovely creature with pale icy blond hair, and blue grey eyes the color of deep ice, her features are delicate and petite, often giving her a look of fragility, she is anything but, a shrewd intelligence that lives in the mind of any sidhe who can navigate the ways of the court. About average height for an elven female, which she is often mistaken for, the misconception has given her the advantage and she’d never felt the need to correct them. Slender with a dancer’s build that offers the soft fullness of a woman’s figure without being so cumbersome as to get in the way of her more frantic movements, she is a lean beauty. http://coffeeandmarkers.deviantart.com/art/Daenerys-Targaryen-407469088 Character Backstory: Lashiel was the daughter of a noble sidhe of the winter court, lovely, sharp with a wicked mind and licentious taste in bedmates that was notable even among her kin. She had not faced the sting of rejection until one particularly earnest changeling refused her and declared his love for his sidhe bride instead, never one to be outdone, Lashiel seduced his bride instead and he came home to the sight of the woman he had rejected and the woman he had rejected her for intertwined in the throws of passion on his marriage bed. Being new to the sidhe way, he still felt the sting of betrayal and rejected his wife as he had Lashiel, leaving the realms to return to the mortal ones he had known. While Lashiel celebrated the pain she had caused, and cooed at her victory over the man who might dare to reject her, the woman who had been her tool grew bitter. Given the lush of slights, wrongs and subtle insults she had dealt in her day, there was not shortage on those who would happily see Lashiel taken down a peg, and it was not long before she found herself set up in a way that drove the Winter Lady to punish her. But rather than be manipulated by those who would see Lashiel hurt, she Lady chose exile instead, to banish Lashiel from their realm for a century and a day. Suiting her own need to punish the slight she had received without indulging those who had played a part in that slight by setting it up. Dropped in the mortal realms Lashiel had taken her love of music and dance to a career, traveling as a Bard through the realms and seeking entertainment while she whiles away her years of banishment. Character Name: Serin Character Class: Bard Character Archetype: Troubadour https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Troubadour_(5e_Archetype) Character Race: Dhampir (https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Dhampir_(5e_Race)) Character Background: Serin has acquired a taste for the subtle nuances lust and passion add to blood, and enjoys taking a nip here or there when carnal play hits it’s peak. Strictly speaking such indulgence is unnecessary for survival but it’s lack leeches the luster from her life; Serin follows in her mother’s footsteps, as a singer and songsmith to the great adventures of her time. Her mother had a long and glorious reputation, some even spoke of her in almost fearful awe, rumors long stirred that her mother was not wholly mortal, that a demon of carnal desire had been her father, and those rumors found no rest when Serin was born. Serin carries the weight of her mother’s mantle with pride, though none speak of her father, there are few other Dhampir who enjoy such a level of freedom to travel from court to countryside, welcomed for her songs so eagerly people seem willing to pretend they don’t realize the questions of her blood. Character Details: A lovely creature with winter pale skin and hair so black it’s shadows seem blue, and slate grey-blue eyes that eagerly call from across a room. There has always been a dangerous edge to her beauty, that calls like fire, warning away in such a manner it seems all the more appeal for its forbidding nature. Serin is tall for a woman, standing almost six foot, with rich curves that make any garment she wears all the more appealing, no matter how modest clevage and snug curve hugging fit, is unavoidable. While traveling she often wears her hair back in a long braid that falls to the middle of her back, which if undone cascades to her hips. A cloak conceals much of her remarkable face when she wishes not to be noticed and thick soled boots to complete her attire, since she prefers to walk rather than worry herself with the needs of an animal. http://www.deviantart.com/art/jessamine-471228475 Character Backstory: Centuries ago, a young woman traveled with a troupe of adventurers deep into the bowels of a demon’s lair, to recapture the women of a village that had been lured away. The demon was not easily defeated but the young woman was a powerful bard and managed to maintain his attentions while her companions spirited the women away, but she lingered too long and found herself under the same spell, until her companions returned and freed her as well, but too late for some complications. That young woman bore a child, that while mortal held the same intoxicating appeal under which she had been conceived, and no word was ever mentioned of the child’s father. As one set of adventurers faded into obscurity and the tales do the daring pasted to a new generation the enchanting woman picked up her mother’s lute and traveled with a caravan of her own, gathering stories and prestige until she too found a band who suited her particular talents, and wanderlust. Until she too found herself found herself with a child born of questionable lineage, which given her profession was never mentioned. No one would dare insult a bard who sat comfortable between two warriors the size of monsters, and so another generation came and went, but the occupation remained. Serin’s mother was a gifted bard who gifted her daughter with her wanderlust and musical skill, her father gave her other gifts, a bone deep bloodlust and inhuman strength, all told it made for an interesting life. And now armed with her lineage and skill, she seeks a challenge and companions to help her travel the world seeking the next new adventure, it wouldn’t exactly to hurt to find those who might not judge to harshly her more, carnal proclivities. Character Name: Nyla Character Class: Bard Character Archetype: College of Healing (https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/College_of_Healing_(5e_Archetype)) Character Race: Half-Dryad (https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Half-Dryad_(5e_Race)) Character Background: Nyla has experience as a shrine maiden, the quiet and decorum that comes from such, she sees much but says little, despite her youthful appearance she is rather old, though her innocence was lost only recently, she is wise but lacks experience. Character Details: Gently curved, and taller than most women, Nyla has strong, delicate bones, and eyes so vivid a green it seems almost alive, her hair is a pale brown reminicent of bark with streaks of color that often come and go with teh seasons. Nyla grew up slowly, and so far from the city or even the nearest town, her choices in garments was limited, she grew comfortable with a heavy drape of cotton, wrapped twice around her, and held in place my a long chain with small golden clips that held the fabric together and up, just over her bustline, simple sandals adorn her feet, tied with leather thongs up her calves to her knees, though the low hanging hem of dress conceals all but very bottom of her feet. For warmth she has a single woolen cloak, that hangs easily to the ground, dyed a pale brown with matching boots. Beyond that, the only ornamentation she ever wore, adorned her hair, and hung at her ears, two freshly budded leaves, encased in amber from the Mother Rowan herself, hung from her ears on tiny golden hooks; and in her hair, slender willowy rootlings held back from her face any stray hairs that might fly a miss, the roots blossoming to reflect the seasons with the rowan’s pale flowers. http://www.deviantart.com/art/Aeolian-565748710 Character Backstory: Long, long ago, there stood upon a hill, a single tree, but from her boughs were sent many seeds, and like a rising tide over the ages that single tree spread her seeds, and at her feet a forest grew. Far ranged the children of that mother tree, and deep grew the magic of that forest, centered around that single tree, so deep did it grow that the druids gathered to pay homage to that mother rowan. A century from than, a few little huts, housed those travelers who came and went, one man remained, long past when most pilgrims had moved on their way, he stayed and worshiped beneath the sheltering boughs of that tree, carrying it water from the stream down in the valley below, chanting prayers and offering tribute as faithfully as the most devout and for far longer, and it is said that one night that mother rowan came to him, and offered him a place at her side, sheltered within her boughs. But that is the legend, for all is known, he may have died, or simply moved on, none who knew him still live. Nyla was found nestled amongst the roots of the mother rowan, one morning as the dawn star rose, nearly three hundred years ago, and she was raised by those who came and worshiped at the foot of the tree, a constantly shifting population and consequently, no one seemed to notice that once she had grown to maturity, she seemed to stop aging. Nearly two hundred years passed in beautiful tranquility before a twisted mage, who perverted the natural order sought out the rowan wood and assaulted the mother tree. The magic he used to rip the heart from the forest gave him what he needed to drain all the power of all the trees given they had all descended from Mother Rowan. The ritual half killed Nyla, but her mortal blood allowed her to survive, but her wood was dead, forcing her from the only home she had ever known, she travels now, singing for her supper, the songs she learned over the years, in the hope she might find a solution that could return life to her dead home.

*Edited Version* Velvet Sin William Deveraux: Aasimar - Cleric/Rogue ABOUT THE PLAYER Name: Mark (Fate) Discord: Fate Sealer D20#1575 Age: May I just say I will most likely be the eldest in the group? Please spare an aging man some dignity. Time Zone: EST DnD Experience: I have participated as a player or a DM off and on for over 2 decades but oddly never using 3.5/ 4th edition or Pathfinder varieties. Roleplaying Experience: My preference for fantasy only wavered once, when I was exposed to the early editions of the World of Darkness setting. It’s dark, story driven system, I found tantalizing and extremely enjoyable until the release of the later versions. Strange how game mechanics can sometimes foil things. Story or Combat (% vs %): In my early years I would have favored combat/exploration over story hands down, however, over time the exhilaration and enjoyment of such events were found short lived. Over time I found that the satisfaction stemming from a group of complex characters that are set within an immersive world with a descriptive and imaginative storyline is the only recipe for success for any campaign. (80% Story vs 20% Combat) ABOUT THE CHARACTER (Note: character was created with role play in mind and is not recommended for min/max purposes) Character Name: William Deveraux Character Class: Cleric (Cleric/Rogue) Character Archetype: Trickery Domain Character Race: Aasimar Character Background: Courtesan - https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Courtesan_(5e_Background) Character Description: From a distance he appears graceful and statuesque in his physique with a thin, muscular, frame which stands roughly six feet in height. A closer inspection would reveal a strikingly handsome face, framed by dark chestnut colored hair highlighted by natural streaks of copper which is kept medium length and well groomed. His facial features are in perfect proportion and his smooth, seemingly unblemished, olive complexion bathes him in a healthy radiant glow. Alluring dark brown eyes coupled with an ever present smile only add to the inviting demeanor in which he carries himself. In a short time spent in his presence one can easily discern a difference about him, the captivating and exotic appeal giving evidence to his celestial bloodline. He is usually adorned in clothing befitting the occasion, while intentionally avoiding the possibility of over dressing. While he doesn’t mind being the center of attention, he prides himself of the ability of making those around him seem more interesting than himself. Distinguishing Mark/s: Located on the inside of his right forearm is a tattoo which is pictured below, Character Backstory: Where to begin? I would assume my birth... given that is where the wheels were set to motion. I never knew my father and I would wager neither did my mother. You see, she was a courtesan within house Kyneblud, a prestigious family of merchants of considerable wealth. This family had rose to prominence quickly and mysteriously, though the Kyneblut’s holdings were immense, there was little evidence in how they obtained such wealth and this was ever upon the lips of those who were envious or afraid… this secret I became privy to some time later. My mothers pregnancy was contractually forbidden and her defiance was punished by enslavement. The house decided they would strip my mother of her child and replace her vacancy with her offspring in turn placing her in a less desirable position of servitude. The wet nurse who drew me from my mothers womb immediately noticed how… special… I was. The house madam was notified as well as the Head of the Table. It was determined then that I could serve the house in ways they had not conceived of until that very moment and they masterfully took advantage of the opportunity. I was placed in the care of the clergy of House Kyneblud, a small sect of worshippers of a very… different kind of deity. Under their tutelage I learned the lore of their Master and I was taught to serve, revere and honor her in order to receive her blessing for both myself and the House. This path lead me passed the doors of morality and into a self indulgent world of inhibition and utter debauchery. I was taught that Only those who hold no secrets are truly free and those who can wrest secrets from those who keep them, can hold true power. I was taught how to extrapolate these secrets by appealing to the deepest desires of the keepers (name given to those who keep secrets) or simply by means of deception. Having this power while knowing no shame, no humiliation and no boundaries gives one a sense of invulnerability, yet this to comes with a price… that true power cannot be held without holding a secret. It is the nature of things, you may be free but in so you will never hold true power and those who hold true power are never are truly free. I served the clergy and house Kyneblud willingly for years and honed the skills that were taught to me all will strengthening my bond with the Mistress of Secrets. Until it came that it was time to prove myself and see if the Kyneblud’s investment would prove worthy. I rarely speak of that night and would avoid it now if I thought I could, however, I too must divulge my secrets in order to remain free. On certain nights, when the phases moon(s) and stars are aligned accordingly the Kyneblud’s hold a ball, sometimes lasting for nights on end. During these balls, only the most elite and powerful are invited and no expense is sparred. Nobles and those of station arrive from all over the lands at attend and having been invited is considered an honor within itself. I am not one to shy away or turn a head to whatever dark desires are found to be enlightening or deny anyone the exhilarating experiences of pressing the borders of one's limitations. In fact, I condone these behaviors if one truly wants to be free. But I digress. I was given the task of entertaining Dame Myndinelle of House Dreghorn, a woman known for her martial prowess and feral instincts. It has been rumored that the woman dangerously toed the line between human and savage and that her only love was found in battle, To spare the woman her reputation I will not expose how far from true some of those rumor's are. I was capable of procuring what I was tasked to obtain and admitting say I more than enjoyed the assignment while it lasted. She returned a few more times, each visit requesting my services at the price of divulgence, It was her last visit that still haunts me to this day. I was told that she would be arriving and that prior to the completion of her stay that she and I would be asked to accompany the Kyneblud’s for dinner. This above all was considered the most honorable of Kyneblud invitations and those who had sat at that table are left speechless, claiming no words can ever describe the experience. I was seated alongside Carinethe Kyneblud, who the current dinner was being held in honor of. She had reached the age of claiming a seat at the table and she was beyond herself with glee. She tugged at my sleeve, giddy with anticipation, her smile outshining the dozen candelabras that adorned the lengthy table. The Head of the Table stood, giving a well rehearsed toast and then in unison the table rose their cups and drank. It was then I noticed the absence of Dame Myndinelle but was immediately brought back to the festivities with a sharp elbow to the ribs from Master Vorelix Kyneblud, the youngest son of the Head of the Table, who sat on the other side of me. Quickly I brought the cup to my lips and drank. The Head of the Table lowered his cup and gave a nod to the servants who hastily went about setting the table. He spoke again and this time my attention would not waiver. “To the Table’s distinguished guest, Brother Deveraux, the confider. He has served this family since birth without question or fail, his devotion to the Mistress of Secrets has kept this house both prosperous and powerful and we should honor his deeds accordingly. Tonight Brother Deveraux, you sit as this table as a Kyneblud and from this moment on will be treated as such.” He than gave a quick up nod and the large oaken iron bound doors that lead to the kitchens opened, exposing the naked and bound form of Myndinelle. Her body glistened in a sheen of aromatic oils which allowed the candlelight to dance upon her skin as she was led toward the table. She moved slowly and without a sense of purpose, staggering at times giving the impression she was drunk. As she neared the end of the table I could see the Head of the Table slide his chair back and open his arms to her in a gesture of welcoming. A servant placed a small stool where the chair had been and then stepped away as the other servants brought the Dame to rest before the Head of the Table before doing the same. He leaned in, placing his cheek next to hers and drew in a deep breath before exhaling loudly and turning to the table. “Dame Myndinell of House Dreghorn has served us well, through her, our house has managed to unite with hers and assume its mantle. She is the blessing of the Mistress of Secrets and has been asked to serve us only once more” And with that he turned and struck the woman with a reverberating backhand which dropped her to her knees. Immediately the two servants on each side of the Dame gathered her limp body and brought it to the table where she was laid face down. The rest watched in delight as the Head of the Table brutally ravished the woman for minutes on end before stopping and staring in my direction. His eyes were wild and I felt the sudden urge to run but could not find the strength to do so. The girl rose from her chair as if on cue, taking me eerily by surprise, and walked directly to the front of the table where she squared on the body of the abused woman as her father stepped back. “Serve us by sustaining our bodies with your flesh as we release your soul to the Mistress of Secrets where she will forever hold you dear. May your blood course within our own as we drink of it and know that as long as the Kyneblud name remains that you will forever be a part of it.” I watched in disgust as the child ripped at flesh with those once brilliant white teeth that were now covered in the dark rich crimson stain. I convulsed as the others joined in ravenously, a sight I would compare to a pack of starving wolves tearing through the carcass of some unfortunate animal. I knew there was no escape from what I had to do but try as I might I could not muster the courage to follow through. Instead I opted to do what it was I was taught to do over the many years… deceive. I leapt across the table and joined in, placing my face deeply into the mangled remains of Myndinelle but never consuming. On occasion I would rise and return the fevered gaze of those around me while appearing the chew on flesh and bone… I left that table that night a changed man, I am not at odds with the teachings of my Mistress of Secrets and will forever follow her accords, though I know now the secrets of the Kyneblud and I will use that power the Mistress has bestowed upon me to bring that House down for the blasphemous acts they commit in her name. Since my departure I practice what I know of my faith in the Mistress of Secrets but my brotherhood with the sect I must abstain from and look for a different means in which to further my cause in the name of my Mistress.
