In the past week, numerous residents of Morgansfort have fallen ill, each suffering from the same hacking affliction. Local remedies prove as useless as prayers at the Chapel of St. Queril, and already at least one town elder has been claimed by the wheezing death. Fortunately for Morgansfort, a canny local herbalist named Maien Brai has traced the source of the malady to Brookman’s well, a small spring on the edge of the wood outside of town, and a rare fungus called blackscour. By banning the use of the spring, the Baronet Halden hopes to prevent further infection, but such measures offer little respite to those already afflicted. While Maien has attempted numerous treatments, she has been unable to cure the disease. She lacks the reagents to brew one last unusual medicine, though all the necessary elements can be found within the nearby Panal Vale. Thus far, though, no townsfolk have dared to venture into the wooded reaches and secure the ingredients for this potential cure. Will you be the one's to help, or will Morgansfort follow the way of any number of frontier towns. I'm looking to start a longer running campaign with about 4 or so players. The adventure premise is based on the 3.5/pathfinder Hollow's Last Hope module, but I've modified it for BFRPG. We'll use the BFRPG core rule book with just a few minor modifications that I'll explain later. You can download the free rules at the link below. This game is intended for those that wish to role-play more than combat and while it's all about having fun, I think it's important to take your character and the game seriously. If you find it interesting and fun to min/max and super-optimize your character, if your the type of gamer that wants to create the perfect character (in terms of stats and abilities), or one that is strict with the interpretation of the rules this game might not be for you. Powergamer types will struggle with this game and my GM style. Not saying there is anything wrong with the way other folks play, and to each their own, I'm just trying to be upfront.
