Swedish girl wants to have fun! Any system :)

Hey! Im a complete newbie here, but would like to play, and learn. I am open to most systems. I live in GMT+1 timezone though (sweden). So, how do I go about finding someone to play with? *wink wink* I have played alittle D&D 3.5 and 4th edition but Im rather new to all roleplaying games xD
Girls, they wanna have fu-un oh girls, just wanna have fuun. Now stuck in my head, Fuck. Also, you ees cruel tease.
Haha, I just thought it was funny as a name for a thread... and well... I do want to have fun xD Do you have any game for me? *sparkly eyes*
I don't think you want to play with me, or my friend and his Hitler character.
Why not? ^^ what kind of roleplaying game are you playing? ^^
Did anyone else get conned by the Post title?
Im sorry if you feel cheated :) but its not my fault if you guys have dirty minds :) Ive always liked dragonlance, forgotten realms and such settings alot :) I also enjoyed Arcanum (though I think it only exists for computors). Chinese - japanese inspired RPGs are also cool :) Well... anyone has any recommendations? ^^
Uh well, do you have any past experiences? Or maybe general preferences? I myself am quite partial to fantasy but sci-fi, not so much.
Best way IMO is to look through the looking for group forums. Have a read through the campaign intros and see if one catches your eye.
In particular when looking for a group it's best to post if you're looking for sci-fi versus fantasy or both, and which days you're available and how often you're looking to play, for example I possibly have a spot open in a pathfinder homebrew fantasy world however, I don't know whether you'd be able to join since I don't know which days you're available and even if you want to play a fantasy based world. In either case, best of luck finding a good group to meet your needs, its always good to welcome more people to the roleplaying world!
I like fantasy alot! ^^ as I said in the beginning, I have played D&D 3.5 and 4th (and some swedish games) I like to place wizard or something like it... and thief-characters :)
I dont mind Sci-fi though... Id love to play a Jedi in a starwars game :D

Nothing like a barbarian girl with a two handed sword , crashing skulls to brighten your day :D , jokes aside ive seen some forgotten realms games around sometimes , never in a time where i can acctually play unfortunatly -.- , but there are games around and i am sure you will not have much trouble finding one , unfortunatly i am not a dm so cant help much Edit : oh btw if you are interested , this is a all female group gathering , you might want to check it out https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/9397/female-players-meeting-group

I would second the female players group. I'm not a member for I'm a guy but I talked to the founder Shay W in the forums and in a pm. She is a nice person and she has 35 members (all woman so none of the sexist crap unless you are comfortable with it) that play a wide variety of systems. Take a look and talk to her is my recommendation.
Im rather used to ignoring sexist crap :P But thank you Metro :) I applied to join :) However, I mostly prefer to play a mixed group :)

True but why have to ignore it when you could game with none of it. Nothing says you can only belong to group A and not any other group. It doesn't hurt / cost anything to look about and see if a group fits what you are looking for. Just trying to help out thats all.
Oh, thank you :) Ive also heard alittle about pathfinder society? how does that work?

If you are keen on star wars you should check out Edge of the Empire , it's a new system that was released earlier this year and is heaps of fun. Also there is a few EotE games listed in LFG you should check it out and some might even be European (I'm not sure because I'm Australian and I pretty much have to play in the morning in American games but it's cool meeting people all over the world). https://app.roll20.net/lfg/search/?days=&dayhours=&frequency=&timeofday=&timeofday_seconds=&language=Any&newplayer=false&playingstructured=starwars&sortby=undefined The official forums for the game: http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/forum/306-star-wars-edge-of-the-empire/ Regarding the sexist stuff its a shame it exists but it just goes to show how childish some boys are. Good luck in your hunt!
Boys are no more childish than girls are. People are individuals, and I believe that you only notice the bad traits in a few of one gender and you then connect those traits to the gender because the many that are not like that, dont stand out as much. Thank you for the tip :) Where could a newbie like me get a hold of a rulebook for that? ^^

The pathfinder society is just a group that runs pathfinder games almost daily from what I heard. I think it is similar in nature to the D&D living world concept but I could be wrong. They have a group so you can find the gm of that group and pm him for more info. I've communicated with him a few times and seems like a nice guy.

http://store.fantasyflightgames.com/productdetails.cfm?SKU=SWE02 Ok so apparently it's out of stock on the official page but i'm sure you could find it at a local store/supplier? Or a different online book shop? Clutching at straws here!
Oh, BTW! I should apparently have added this before... but I dont have a mic!!!
Yep, that's gonna be hard to game with.

Not really. There are text games.
Yeah, so I am looking for a game where I am allowed to type :)
Good luck with in your efforts to find a game. I do wonder if 'Swedish guy...' would have gotten this kind of response.
Thank you, but please stop posting stuff and then deleting the post... your deleted posts are getting annoying.
Anyway.
I was GOING to say that I thought 'delete' would let me remove my response altogether. Alas, the forum doesn't work that way: the post just sits there with 'This post has been deleted by the author or a moderator'. If you want a group, and are a female, there is an all female group that's always looking for gamers. Can't remember the name. Try the 'Looking for Group' forum. There are plenty of other groups there posting for players, groups that represent a wide variety of gaming systems.
You do know what there is an "edit" option for your posts? You can just edit your previous post, instead of leaving a deleted post when you want to write something else... I would very much appreciate if you use it, thank you for the tip though.
Hahaha love how much feedback this thread got, 320+ views :p there's a campaign myself and about 7 others just started up, we could use a swedish girl to keep them in line ;) That is, if you're interested!
I am up for a game, made my own campaign for a D&D 3.5 ruleset, and this will be my first time being a gm as well as helping my friend (who is a complete noob) to get the ropes. Feel free to send me a message if you are interested
Of course Id be interested Dante :) However I do not have a mic, so I would be typing, is that ok?

But when I decide that I don't like a post I've made, I'd prefer just to remove it, rather than 'bump' it, or say something just to waste space. I will certainly be more thoughtful in the future. Thank you for the tip.

These days decent microphones are cheap and a good decent one that attaches onto your headphone cable is the Zalman Microphone ZM-MIC 1 only about $5 on Amazon. If by any chance the reason you don't use a microphone is that your afraid of letting people hear your voice you could try MorphVOX Pro, it allows you to change your voice to sound like someone or something else, to the point that even a MAN can sound like a female convincingly. >_>
Im not sure familliar with amazon... But I dont think we have that store in sweden. The rest of your post made even less sense and seems even somewhat offensive. i dont have a mic because I dont have a mic, thats it.

He wasn't meaning to sound offensive. Amazon.com is an online store that sales worldwide. I think there is a branch that deals with Europe area which I know you are not truly part of it but it does do euros. The morphVox pro is just software that is designed to alter a person's voice to sound different. It has settings to change a man's voice to a womans, a woman's to a mans, anyone to a robot, etc.. The reason he was pointing this out is there are some people that don't like having people hear their natural voice for personal reasons.
But why would it make any difference if My Voice was altered? What I Said would still sound just as stupid and in just as bad english... Just with a more stupid Voice. Oh, Sweden doesnt have euros. we use swedish crowns/SEK

To me it wouldn't matter but some people do like to change their voice because of how they don't like it or they are trying to roleplay a gender they are not. Nothing was meant by it. He just assumed you were one of those that wanted to sound different from their natural voice aka if you played a male character you would want to sound like a man. I wasn't sure if your country used euros or not. Here in America we use dollars which are rather plain green but supposedly some of our higher currency is going to be blue soon. What do yours look like. (going off subject here)
Like this I know what american dollars look like :P Because in the rest of the world, not only their central government of investigation knows things about other countries ;) However, among our coins the ones with "50" on them arnt valid anymore. They were 0,5 SEK coins. Does anyone know of any pen and paper like Arcanum?
Hokey, things turned really wrong at some point here. So my attempt at steering the conversation into less awkward waters. I don't know much about steam punk games though I believe a few DnD and Pathfinder supplements actually give you the ability to play characters like Gunslingers or Alchemists. You can even create golems from various materials. But honest-to-goodness steampunk? Not to my limited and newbie knowledge.

The MurmelQueen, Pathfinder is a variation on 3.5 published by Paizo. Many of the rules are the same but a lot of the class stuff has been updated. Here is the PRD for the rules: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ Regarding Pathfinder Society, it is a way to play Pathfinder where you can join in a game with anyone. You show up at the table with a Pathfinder Society-legal character and play. When you are done playing that session you get a sheet with the treasure, experience, etc. Pro: you can play anytime and do not have to commit to a game Cons: you do not always play with the same people so you may not develop the same relationships you would in a regular campaign. Additionally, the options are more restricted than the standard Pathfinder game. BTW, how is your Finnish? :) - Gauss
Goatman: oh, what I like in Arcanum is the opposition between the old magic and the new technologies :) I think its a really cool concept :) Gauss: Sounds cool :) I think Ill sign up and make a character :) Haha, people in sweden dont speak Finnish, its people in Finland who speaks Swedish :) I only know... "Moi" :P
