Greetings! We are looking for a few Players for a Campaign based around battling threats described within the Volo's Guide to Monsters! We will be using the Module for Roll20 and exploring everything from Illithids to Hags and beyond. Your character will take up the mantle as a Monster-Hunter of the Slayer's Guild. Based out of Everlund, you and your Guildmates will traverse the bogs and marshes of the surrounding area, taking contracts to hunt down otherworldly/extra-planer threats, all while investigating rumors of folk disappearing in the night, animals going stir-crazy and the like. If you'd like more information, check out our LFG Listing! https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/64579/darkstar-presents-slayers
This sounds awesome and I'd love to join! My name is Jake - my friends and I just got through playing LMoP and the bug has bitten me! We were all pretty new, but it looks like I am going to be trying my hand at DMing us through CoS next, so rather than retire this character for months I thought I'd just move him to a new campaign. He's only level 4, so I don't mind starting over if thats necessary. I've never used R20 before, but I'm pretty quick on the uptake if you are a little patient. The character in question is a Tiefling Rogue (CN, criminal). He was raised by well meaning parents, and was a good natured and honorable youth, but through circumstances beyond his control still found himself in a life of violent crime as an adult. He discovered he had a knack for assassination, and for many years he centered his life around this talent. Despite this he maintained a strict code of honor, and after a particularly heinous job decided that he needed to find out what kind of man he really was. He quests now hoping to find out if there is more to him than just his blade. As a player I prefer to try to figure out clever ways to turn encounters in the parties favor, as I'm not a huge damage dealer (persuasion, novel use of the environment or items etc...). I do like to cause a little bit of chaos (pickpocketting the payment for an ale a party member just payed for from the bartender) as entertainment but never anything big enough or frequent enough to harm the party (I subsequently attempt to place the successfully pickpocketed money back in the party members pocket, but then get caught by him/her). Of note my work schedule is pretty irregular. But I do know it months in advance, so I'd definitely be able to let the group know way ahead if I was going to miss a session.
