new to site

Hello everyone.  Hope you had a great holiday season.  Saw someone mention this site on Facebook so I thought I could come check it out.  It has been a long time since my weekly role playing group ended, and I would love to join one.  The only system I know well is dnd.  I am willing to learn new systems, and buy player handbooks.  The hardest part for me is my schedule is very random.  If I got into a game with a set time every week I could talk to work and try to get that time off.  I admit I am not the best role player.  I tend to be more of a side, or support character then the character that the story is focus on.  If you have any questions feel free to ask.  Thank you for your time.
Hey Mark and welcome to the site. As a general rule you are going to want to give some more specific information when looking for a group.  For starters what edition of DnD you are familiar with / looking to play would be very helpful.  Also what kind of games you are looking for and what time zone you are in. That being said, if you are interested in playing DnD4e, The Living Guild Campaign might be a good fit for you.  We are a large community about about 110 players and 10 DMs that play DnD4e in a system that is designed for people with random/hectic schedules.  Once you have a character made you are able to play in any game that happens around your level.  Each game is scheduled by a DM, usually a few days in advance, at a time and day that works for the DM.  If you want to play, you show up and play.  If you don't want to play, or must make a blood offering to the Work Monster (TM), then don't play.  It is as simple as that.  If that sounds interesting to you, toss me a PM with any questions you have and I can see about getting you an invite to the game.
Thanks for the advice.  I know 2nd, 4th, and 5th dnd.  I am in Wisconsin and central time zone.
