LFP Dark Sun DnD 4E

From when the blood red sun's rays wash upon you when it dawns, bringing with it with a dense heavy heat, or when the sun leaves in the night and the cold sets making many beg for what was only moments ago something they thought was nearly unbearable one thing is also constant. You always taste dust and ash. Athas is dying and so are its people. The Dragon Kings and their cities raid the wastelands, the dunes, the mountains and last forests. Sometimes a bold one takes arms against one of the others, but such battles are so costly for both sides and present so little gain that such wars thankfully grow increasingly rare. They go to war for many reasons, for minerals, for gold and other treasures, for water, and often just for it's people. Their cruelties doesn't end outside of it's borders however, their peoples are oppressed, abused, and ended at the cruel, fickle whims of their masters. You and your compatriots are just one of many slave gladiators condemned to Tyr's Arena. You will fight for the people's amusement and will eventually one die for it if things continue on as they do. But as the sands time flow even it might catch up to the immortal Dragon Kings. Mummers, rumors, and gossip of rebellion flow. This is nothing new, tiding of unrest constantly ebb and flow in all the cities in Athas. But now it just flows. The Templars and their men crush overt defiance and uprisings, but in reality it has just weeded out the weak from the strong. Subtle but major distributions and rebellion are more commonplace then ever. The city is on the brink of something is just a matter of when. Furthermore from the faint tidings you've heard about the other city states, it's something happening across Athas, abit at a much slower rate. Athas is waiting for change, it's just waiting for the right people to bring it where it really wants to go. Character Creation You start off as level 3 characters (yes, that's my 'clever ad&d reference for the day), with NO starting gold or magical items. Divine Classes, gnomes, half orcs, and the like are a no go. Fill those roles with other stuff. PHBs, Dark Sun, and Essentials books only please for other races/classes/powers please.
I may be interested in this, though I know little about Dark Sun.
That's cool, it's more Conan the Barbrian then Lord of the Rings. Pscionics are big, Magic is (usually) evil and deadly to the planet, and the world is a dying desert ruled by genocidal tyrants who succeeded centuries ago. They are so evil, no matter what you do or how you act, you are most likely going to be the good guy.
Timezone?
CST, though thanks to my schedule I'm pretty flexible during some weekdays.
If there are players who’re willing to play in more gmt friendly time (afternoons or weekends) and ofcourse if you can – i would love to play. If no – good luck and fave fun :)
I think honesty that might be a disctint possibility.
can i get in on this?
Sure, no problem, just ask to join from the LFP page and post here about what times are good for you.

I enjoy a good thematic game like this. I'm available most Monday & Friday evenings, and all day Saturday (EST).
What days are you willing to run? I love DS (in fact, I have a long running DS campaign that I run), so I wouldn't mind joining in.
Is there room for one more player... I've played 4th ed. before, and I know pretty much the basic rules... but there is one thing I don't understand about 4th ed. , and that's the action points part.. If there is anything else you need to know, just feel free to ask... ^_^
I'm willing to run games during the week for GMT people, a game on Friday nights if more CST people are interested. I'm already playing other games during the weekend and not into RPGs enough to play multiple games on the same day.
If you are doing Friday nights, then I would love to join.
I would be interested. Played part of dark sun campaign until we got a rain stick in Tyr. Tue,wed, or fri evenings i could do.

Awesome! Dark Sun is kind of my favorite theme and I have a fair amount of knowledge about the lore. My time zone is PST (GMT-8) and I'm free Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. I could also play Thursday and Friday mornings to accommodate EU players. I'd be interested in making a thri-kreen melee ranger.
I'd be interested. I've played this season's encounter. Do not know much about Dark Sun, but I'm willing to learn.
I'm free most nights, this sounds really cool. I'm EST and free Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Sunday nights.
