Edited 1484770445
A storm is coming. Cracks of thunder that shake the very foundation of the sword coast. Bolts of lightning leave behind naught but ruin. Will you hold steadfast against the tempest, or will you be washed away? Adventure: Storm King's Thunder, an epic giant-focused adventure that stretches from level 1-20 and beyond, full of deadly combat, sandbox exploration, intrigue, politics, and multiple factions vying for dominance. You will join our current band of heroes at the 6 th level , just after they begin chapter two of the adventure. Style: I like to emphasize creativity and player freedom. You'll be rewarded for coming up to solutions to problems I had not considered, and for going off the beaten track. The game is about the narrative experience, and having fun. The handbook is more of a guideline than actual rules. My biggest inspirations and influences are Chris Perkins, Matt Mercer, and the Angry GM. New players welcome! Game: We'll be playing in Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition, with players able to use all options in the Player's Handbook, Volo's Guide to Monsters, the Elemental Evil Player's Companion, and the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide for character creation. Unearthed Arcana and homebrew are allowed on a case by case basis. Aarakocra and variant humans are fine.  18+: This is a game played by adults, using adult language. Schedule: Once a week sessions, going ~4 hours each. Saturday afternoons, 1 PM EST. If you are unable to make at least 90% of these, please look for another game. I plan for the entire campaign to last another ~20 sessions. However, plans rarely survive an encounter with my players. Price: Price? Why on earth would I pay for a dungeons and dragons game? By supporting me, you allow me to spend much more time crafting a better experience, as opposed to flipping burgers. Here is what you are paying for: Support whenever you need it, making your character, backstory, leveling up, setting up anything on the character sheet you need help with. Countless hours of campaign writing and testing completed by Wizard's of the Coast. Over 250 hours of campaign preparation and conversion completed by Roll20. Over 100 hours of improvements, additions, and adjustments completed by myself. Over 300 statted Tokens featuring original artwork from Dungeons & Dragons. Over 60 battle-ready Maps, with Dynamic Lighting on 34 of them. Over 40 background soundtracks and music, customized for every leg of the adventure. Custom macros for rolling stats, initiative, attacks and spells, and anything else you need. Cross-linked handouts throughout the adventure. A grand story full of adventures, including the largest Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition battles ever. Over 160 locations in the Forgotten Realms. A guaranteed good time, or your money back! First and last session free! Not convinced? Message me about listening in on one of the sessions to see if this is the right choice for you. “This game will be require payment for my time as a Game Master at a rate of $15 per session , starting with your second session. Be advised that payment will occur off site via paypal and cannot be enforced by the Roll20 staff.” Back Story (Some spoilers for the Storm King's Thunder Campaign): Irieatra has been tasked by her uncle with traveling to the town of Nightstone, and taking a rubbing of the stone for which the town is named. He hopes to shed light on a vision he had of giants breaking the world apart. Irieatra found and allied with some muscle in Waterdeep, suspecting a long and hard journey ahead. There, Farwalk and his companion Heinrich joined the adventuring company, and the most experienced member of the group, Farwalk, was elected leader. Along the way, they came upon a group of elves; Ki, Ryuk, and Omanorin, each traveling together for their own reasons. Worried about the vision, the elves joined forces with the adventuring company, and continued down the road to Nightstone. Session 1: Taking a side path off the High Road, our heroes came across a ruined caravan along the way to Nightstone. Several slain humanoids wearing black cloaks, and hundreds of gold worth of ruined cargo were covered in magic lightning blast residue. Finding no sign of the culprit, they continued along the road, only to find Nightstone heavily damaged by falling rocks, and occupied by goblin forces. They swept through the town, clearing our the majority of the goblins and stealing a valuable ring from the dead noble Lady Velrosa Nandar, who perished when giants in a giant floating castle attacked the settlement with rocks, and stole the Nightstone. A lonely Tressym bonded with Farwalk shortly before he lost an eye to a lucky goblin strike, a wild black stallion was tamed by Ki, and a goblin named Jilk was conscripted into servitude onto pain of death. They learned that some of Nightstone's inhabitants were hiding out in a cave to the north, where they were enslaved by goblins. Session 2 : Our heroes quickly cleared out the last of the goblin invaders, securing the town and earning their second level. The Zhents came knocking on the gate, and while debating on whether or not to let them in, an adult bronze dragon named Felgolos flew by. He devastated half of the Zhent forces with his lightning breath, captured Kella, and watched our heroes take on remaining half. Impressed, he bequeathed them with two favors, and gifted a small statue of a black dog to Farwalk. They stayed up into the wee hours of the morn drinking quality wine and telling stories. When our heroes awoke, Felgolos was nowhere to be seen, and orc war horns sounded. They responded rapidly by closing the gates, taking defensive positions on the towers, and takes out the orc forces from a distance. A well-placed fireball from Irieatra took out a good portion of the orc grunts, but by the time the orcs leader fell and a retreat was sounded, half the party was unconscious. Some first aid and the return of Felgolos from his hunting trip sparked level three. Session 3: Our heroes dined on a breakfast of bacon and eggs, fit for champions, before taking to the skies on the back of Felgolos. A trip of several hours was reduced to 10 minutes as they soared through the air to the tune of "The wings on the dragon go up and down". After locating the caves in question, and circling around to find alternative entrances, our heroes waved goodbye to the good dragon and entered the western side of the dripping caves. They snuck carefully through the darkness, until Jilk betrayed them and raised the alarm. Skirmishes with goblins and ogres continued until our heroes found the cave of the goblin boss, Hark. They quickly defeated him and freed his next snack, capturing Jilk and treating with the goblin Snigbat for the release of the rest of the villagers. Once the villagers were safe, the heroes took holy vengeance on the remaining goblins, slaughtering them in a surprise attack. The now sleeping ogres were dispatched, and Jilk was used as bait for a Black Pudding, rumored to live in the eastern caves. Reaching the end of the cave with no sign of the ooze, Jilk tricked Farwalk into eating a poisonous mushroom, just in time for the ozze to attack. Jilk hardly slowed it down as he was thrown inside and dissolved into nothing more than bones; the village guard suffered the same fate as he split the ozze into two threats. Heinrich came within a stones throw of death before the combined efforts of the party managed to turn the Black Pudding into nothing more than smoking jello. The find of Hark's treasure room signaled time to get out of that damn cave, with Irieatra now sporting a wand of wonder. They returned to town with the villagers, enjoyed a celebration feast fit for kings, slept for a relaxing night, and set off towards Waterdeep, planning to charter a ship to Icewind Dale. Their plans were interrupted by the arrival of a cloud giant named Zephyros, and his talk of the shattering of the Ordning. Session 4 : Zephyros offered our heroes a ride up to Bryn Shander in Icewind Dale. The party got to know him as a somewhat eccentric old codger, with fantastic taste in furniture and singing talent. Ki became acquainted with the animals of the group, being formally introduced to Stronghoof the black stallion, Beth, Macbeth, Tiffany, and Charles, the white steeds, Franklin the Tressym, Rat the rat, and Zephyros's pet gryphons: Fred, Deb, Meg, and Helen. Irieatra renamed Rat to the much more sensible Humphrey, while Ryuk renamed his swift steed Dawn; Macbeth was such a silly name after all. Farwalk spent the trip exercising and foraying into the field of cloud fishing, and Ryuk managed to adapt his quiver to hold crossbow bolts and arrows. Irieatra relaxed and took it easy, conjuring up useful items in her free time, as Heinrich pursed his studies. Our heroes faced off against some crazy air cultists, earning them some pixie dust and a bag of holding. They were also reunited with Felgolos in a near-miss of disaster, when Ryuk just managed to convince the dwarf operatives of the Lord's Alliance that Zephyros was a friendly cloud giant. Felgolos gifted Farwalk with some sending stones, so that they could contact each other. The dwarfs flew back to Mithral Hall, and Bryn Shander edged closer and closer. Goodbyes were said, and luck wished, as our heroes touched down on the icy rocks of Ten-Towns, and watched the cloud keep float away into the distance. Session 5: The bored guards at the gates of Bryn Shander hardly batted an eye as our heroes crossed the threshold from freezing tundra to slightly less freezing walled city of the north. Farwalk, more accustomed to the cold then his scrawny companions, made idle chatter with a priest's assistant at the house of the Triad, Sirac of Suzail, about the distinctions between justice and vengeance, while Ryuk and Ki head straight to the marketplace. Sir Baric the third rudely approached them, looking for any sign of the Weevil menace. When it became clear that the Weevil wasn't here, he apologized to the shivering Ki, and gave her his spare Yeti-cloak. Meanwhile, sneaky Ryuk noticed a robed woman watching the group from the shadows, and snuck up on her himself. Turns out, little old Belodora was simple eyeing the strength of the group, and wondering to herself if they could help her hunt some giants. Ki and Ryuk purchased some ammo and yeti-skin cloaks, both of them conquering the cold, before setting out to locate the Sheriff and inform him of the die circumstances surrounding the death of his sister. Along the way, they bartered for some rooms at the Northlook tavern, sampled both firebeard firebrandy and some choice icewine from Farwalk's homeland, and made a proposal for catching the Weevil to Sir Baric. When they eventually did fine the Sheriff, the speaker of Bryn Shander found them, and hired them to protect the city from the threat of giants. Just in time for a company of Ice Giants to arrive, hunting for Artus Cimber. A brutal battle waged, guards disorganized as most of the giants shelled the city with rocks. Our heroes took on the leader of the giants by the eastern gate as they attempted pierce the defenses of Bryn Shander. The aftermath of the battle saw Ryuk, unconscious and barely alive, Irieatra, drained from overexertion of magic, and Heinrich, cleaved in two to save his friend. Only Ki and Farwalk remained in any condition to take on the last giant, and with the help of city guards, Belodora, and Sir Baric, they managed to fell that final foe. But at what cost? Session 6: Our heroes dealt with the aftermath of the giant attack. They claimed many valuables from the felled giants, including a set of cosplay armor now worn by Ryuk. They called a meeting with the all of the influential merchants and leaders in town. Sir Baric asked them to inform his order, the Order of the Gauntlet, of his new plan to search the smaller of the Tentowns for the Weevil, and to request men to defend Bryn Shander on his behalf. Sirac of Suzail, the son of Artus Cimber, the man the giants search for, spoke of the one family his father might be in contact with; the Roaringhorns of Waterdeep. Belodora sought out Ryuk, and advised him to contact Twip Ironbottom on his way through Hundelstone. Sheriff Markham beseeched the party to scour Icewind Dale for any sign of where the giants are situated. Speaker Duvessa gifted them a letter, addressed to her aunt Inirva Coldwater, promising passage and accommodations to the players should they require need of a ship to travel up and down the sword coast. Farwalk contributed a share of the loot to helping rebuild the town, asking for nothing but the lure for a Weevil trap in return. Our heroes then set out, accompanied by Sirac, into the Icy cold north. As they patrolled Icewind Dale, they were attacked by Yetis, intervened in a fight between a massive white dragon and a frost giant, and dispatched another giant, one on six. This giant, under heavy interrogation, revealed that the frost giants are based in Svardborg, in the Sea of Moving Ice. With this vital intelligence, our heroes headed back towards Byrn Shander.
Is there still room in this?

So let me get this straight ... you want me to pay you to play? You had me all the way up till the payment ... ya know since im broke.
Krusader said: So let me get this straight ... you want me to pay you to play? You had me all the way up till the payment ... ya know since im broke. Sorry to hear that. I can definitely empathize, being broke is the main reason I'm trying to set this up. Asking for payment both gives me the opportunity to put more hours into making the game a better experience, helps all of my players to take it more seriously and be less likely to quit partway through, and helps keep me afloat. Best of luck finding a game that works for you, and feel free to contact me if your situation ever changes.
if only i could do 1pm
What times can you do?
