Unearthed Arcana

So I was just discussing some Unearthed Arcana modifications to characters available on the DnD Wizards of the Coast site, and they try to add on to characters for some new options, and address any issues or imbalances that may pop up with characters. Thought it might be good to share in case anything caught anyone's eye, the big ones I've noticed were for Ranger, Cleric, and Barbarian, but they do release things fairly frequently Cleric : http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/c... Barbarian : http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/b... (in case anyone else is interested) Ranger : http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/unearthed... Full list of Unearthed Arcana : http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana
I've been communicating with RJ about the Ranger UA, and if you find things in there that you'd like to use, run it past me. I have no philosophical objections to UA content, but I do want to check it on a case-by-case basis.
Oh wow, those cleric ones are cool. Forge domain is PERFECT for a Dwarf cleric. Sticking with what I've got, though, since it would alter Sigrun way too much to change. I like my care bear hippy dippy cleric. XD

Some additional stuff I thought people might like from the Unearthed Arcana, for general use, and possibly to keep in mind for the evil campaign - - For the Wizard and Warlock Spellcasters that wanted to tie things into a magic god - http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/faithful - Gothic Heroes, for a new Race, as well as new Fighter and Rogue types http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/gothic-he... - Teifling Variant Race and new Conjuration Spells http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/o... - Some new Feats http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/feats - new fighting styles for fighters, paladins, and rangers relating to the Underdark/Darkness http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/l... - New Bard Colleges (Glamour and Whispers) http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/b... As always, if interested in anything, definitely run it past Chuck first, as some of these are not playtested as much as the ones in the PHB so it's best to make sure they're fairly well balanced.
Almost forgot, new stuff on the Druid too http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/d...
Man, the Abyssal Arcana on the Abyssal Tiefling variant kinda seems like a chore, having to roll new spells basically every day. The revenant subrace looks like a lot of fun for short campaigns though! Also, Monster Hunter fighter archetype reminds me of a character from Thrilling Intent. xD
Another one I found, that might be nice for the more long term players, it takes some of the old "Kits" from previous versions and converts them to be new subclasses for the Fighter and Bard http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/k...
Dude, superiority dice sound friggin' sweet!
New Fighter Archetypes, two of them heavy towards Archery (one of which incorporating some magic with Arcane Archer), plus a Samurai, and a Knight (heavy towards mounted combat) http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/f...
Got some interesting new monk stuff :) http://media.wizards.com/2016/dnd/downloads/M_2016...
They just release a whole new class... It's very interesting, the Artificer, basically someone who's super attuned to magical items and making them while being either an Alchemist vial thrower or a Gunslinger. http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/a...

Hahaha! I knew as soon as I saw it on FB this morning, "RJ's gonna be all over this one." ;)

It's essentially a sniper/grenade thrower mixed with a magic item hoarder, and a couple spells sprinkled in for flavor. It sounds like such an awesome class, and side note, it's the only class that's heavily dependent on Intelligence outside of Wizard (unless you count Eldritch Knight Fighter) which is kind of crazy they didn't have something more intelligence based sooner. EDIT: or Arcane Trickster...

EDIT: or Arcane Trickster... Really?! Wow, I never realized it, but you're totally right: wizard is the only Int-based class. It's not even good for getting extra skill ranks anymore! There are a lot of really dumb adventurers wandering around Fifth Edition who took Int as their dump stat, I bet. But artificer does sound super-cool! I don't mind them taking things in a more steampunky direction.

New Archetypes for Ranger and Rogue The Ranger ones would make for some interesting roleplaying/character choices The Rogue is all about the new Scout Archetype http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/r... edit: and the Rogue finally gets an extra attack with it... although it's not until level 17
