Hi all, I'm looking for a D&D group to play with. I'm completely new to D&D but have wanted to learn to play for a long time. With no local groups to play with, are there any groups here on Roll20 that would take a total beginner? Thanks
Thanks for replying, and for the offer. I've just been doing some reading about pathfinder, it sounds interesting. To be honest I'm not even sure where to start, but I'm going to do some more reading. Anything you would recommend I do to try to get up to speed? I'd like to be able to join a game and have a vague idea what I'm doing!
First thing is to know tbat you wont know everything about everything and sometimes you need to experience to learn. I would pick race and class and build it up on a char sheet. Then you can put ypurself into some scenarios and you will be able to play them out. I can walk you through building your first character if you like. It is a daunting undertaking to take on your own. Also, if you have any specific questions i can answer them for you. Ive been a dungeon master for pathfinder since it came out so i got answers for days.

I found a character sheet online along with what looks like the Pathfinder char guide so I'll have a shot at that today and see how I get on.
Thanks all for the help. I've managed to find a pathfinder character sheet and some instructions online so I'll have a go tonight at rolling up a char. Pathfinder looks fun, how does it compare to 5e? (I've never played this either)
Pathfinder and D&D 5th edition are both pretty similar, they are both D20 based systems. Pathfinder is a more built up version of D&D 3.5 edition. Where as D&D 5 is a more streamlined version of D&D 3.5 edition. If you're able to play one, then the other should be pretty easy to get to grips with. I'm normally GMT, but at the moment I'm staying in Delhi so I'm GMT +5:30.
