Character Vault, sheet used and what happens if it doesn't match when importing?

Is there any way to find out what sheet each character was created with? There are a few different sheets for D&D 5e, and all have various pros and cons depending on character being made or type of game being played...  but as I'm in 3 different roll20 games as a player, and each game uses a different sheet, exporting those characters shows no information about the sheet used. This same issue is also true if I created a character in a private game (when say applying to a game), then export it to the vault.  Even if not accepted it's still there but I've no idea what sheet was used months later. Also, if i were to try and import a character into a game, that didn't use that same sheet, what happens? I've not looked into the API, but are the variables standardised to ensure that issues with sheet variations are kept to a minimum?  I'm hoping this is the case, but obviously some sheets have a lot of sections that just don't exist in other sheets. Any answers greatly appreciated.

There's no way to see which sheet a character was created with, other than loading it into a game and looking at its attributes In general, it's a bad idea to try and use a character with a sheet different from the one it was initially created with. While some attributes will carry over, most won't, or even worse, existing attributes will mess up calculations on the sheet (most often in mysterious and intransparent ways). If you need to use a character with a different sheet, I would suggest copying over the data manually.
Is there no variable stored to state what sheet a character was created with, and thus allow it to be displayed in the vault? It seems like something that could prove quite important if importing to different sheets causes such weird problems. I guess for now my own work around would be to go plus again, and create 1 game myself for each character sheet, and export and import characters into games with the correct sheets straight away, so I at least know what they are, and then otherwise ignore the vault other than as a medium to transport through. Thanks for the reply and warning :)

I know of some people that just prior to using the vault, they add to their characters name what sheet they are using. Example "(5e ogl) Jonny the Destroyer" or "Timmy the terrible (Tab-SW)". This lets them know what the sheet is and they can edit the character name after they import them into a game easily.

Both the 5E Shaped Sheet and the 5E OGL Sheet have an Attribute named "version". Once you load a character into a game, look for this Attribute on the character's Attributes & Abilities tab. If you see a number like 1.5 or 1.6, it's most likely the 5E OGL Sheet. If you see a number that begins with 6, 7 or 8, you are most likely dealing with the 5E Shaped Sheet.
