Looking for help learning to DM Call of Chutulu

I need someone who has experience DMing a CoC game to show me the ropes so i can Be a keeper. I really want to run a full length campaign so if you are able to please pm me with any tips you may have
Which edition? Have you read through the core book?
i am just confused about how skills are decided. i know its based off profession but say you make your own profession how do you know what numbers to put there? and thank you for the response
As Dustin posted, which edition are you looking for guidance with? 7th is different than previous versions. When you decide on an occupation and you don't find one that matches try using an existing one first. Many times you can find a published occupation that has the same 'feel' that you are looking for in an unlisted occupation. For instance Bodyguard fits close to Private Investigator. Doctor of Medicine, with a few tweaks, could be substituted for Nurse. If your looking to build your own, generally an Occupation consists of 8 or 9 skills representing what the occupation is good at. Skill points are allocated differently depending on CoC version.
As far as skill point allocation, most skills come with a minimum chance to perform. For instance Library Use has a 25% before you ever put points into it. If you were to say allocate 40 points to it the end total score would be 65%. Occupation skill points only get allocated to occupation skills. You hav a small pool of personal interest or hobby points to spend on anything else. Cthulhu Mythos can never have points allocated to it; you must play and encounter things to have this score go up.
oh i see i was interested in 7th edition. how many points do you get for that? and thannk you for your answeres (:

Just a gentle reminder: If this strays further away from "I am looking for a group to make/join" you run the risk of getting moved to the off-topic forum.  Roll20 forums are for discussing Roll20-specific topics, and general "How do I play _____" conversations are decidedly off-topic.  I wish you luck finding a group!
