The Galactic Empire has fallen. The Republic has
been restored. The conflict has just begun.
It is 7 ABY—three years since the Death Star II
was destroyed, Emperor Palpatine was killed, and the Alliance to Restore the
Republic was reorganized into the New Republic.
Shortly after the Battle of Endor, Republic
Command commissioned a new special-ops team to rescue key allies located in
high-threat areas. Missions would take recruits into the most dangerous areas
of the remnants of the Galactic Empire. Some missions would occur in the
shadows, while others would call for persuasion, and, eventually, a more direct
action would likely be required.
For a full standard year, Republic operatives
searched the galaxy for beings who had the one unique requirement for
recruitment—Force-sensitivity.
Classified as Operation Lightbringer, the team
would be composed of Force-users from the Core Planets to the Outer-Rim. While
recruits were found, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker and General Crix Madine
designed an extensive training program to be physically, mentally, and
spiritually grueling to prepare recruits for the most challenging situations,
conditions, and environments in the field.
For two years, the recruits trained under former
Jedi Knights, Teepo Paladins, and Wardens of the Sky. Training began on Tython
for the basic phase, followed by Tatooine for desert phase, Hoth for tundra
phase, Dagobah for swamp phase, and finally to Coruscant for urban phase and
graduation.
So, here we stand with our first graduates of
the Lightbringer Academy—our freshmen members of the Special Republic Service.
