How do you find a group on roll20?

Ive tried searching, looking for game, forums and private messaging and nothings worked so far, im new to this and i dont have anyone to ask about it but is there a better way? am i missing something i should be doing because im just not sure. i could really use some help.
It can take some time. Are you interested in being a GM or PC? it's usually easier to start something if you're going to GM. I usually post what role I want, what game system, and my availability and go from there. I generally think it's best to look in the forums, because not every game shows up in the join game section of the game tab.

Post in this forum for example: Tittle: [lfg][5e] weekends Body: Name Time zone and when looking to play what type of game system experience and a brief bio about yourself This be a basic post then you just sit and wait for replies. You may get some you may not, but dont bump thread thats againts rules.
thank you both for the advice guys, ill give it a try.
Also use reddit.com/lfg and this forum
Some groups even start on Roll20 but then shift over to something like Discord after they've built a large enough community of players and GMs. They end up only posting new campaign ads through those rather than here. So if you go into the Looking for Group thing, you'll prolly find several of those and you likely won't have a problem finding a game. I usually do as the people above have suggested. I'm in a group like I mentioned that's mainly DnD centered and I'm a one of the few, if not the only Call of Cthulhu GM in the group. That being said, I kind of have a decently sized captured audience for my ads but I still usually post here.

I'm in two groups that started on Discord and shifted over to Roll20 after gaining 4-5 more people for players, with a few of them switching GMs every once in awhile. If I could suggest anything, Liam, I'd say try to find Discord links to servers for RPGs and/or LFG. I know there's at least one for Song of Swords and one for Exalted that I've been in.

It's a lot like fishing. You need patience and stick-to-it-ness.  These are the things I do which you may find helpful: 1. Be willing to run a game, even a one-shot. GMs get responses. Setting up a game page and opening it up for players will get a response. A lot of responses. 2. Look through this forum and PM individuals who are looking for games. Read their profile in case the games they are posting about isn't one you want to play because they may have other games they are interested in playing, which could be the game you are interested in playing. Be sure to post in the forum thread that you PM'd them. 3. Respond to PMs. Be polite. If schedule and play style don't work out, wish them well. 4. Always include time zone and relation to GMT. My time zone is PST (GMT-8). Put it on your profile and in the title of every forum post you make.  5. Set trial periods for new players. 1-3 sessions is usually enough to see if you both gel with your play styles. Putting that up front gives everyone a chance to leave gracefully. If you have a game page, put that information in a forum thread and sticky it to the top. Good luck! /Matt
