Virtual RPG Gaming Convention! - AetherCon 2013 - Nov 15-17 & Roll20 GM QuickStart Guide

www.aethercon.com This will be our 2nd annual AetherCon. We currently have 53 Roll20 games scheduled ( and 11 Infrno games ), so get to the AetherCon site and register as a Player before they fill up! We use proven, free Internet applications for: o Multiplayer RPG gaming sessions, including some Tournament games. o Presentations from artists, authors, and gaming industry personalities. o "Vendor Booths" representing gaming companies. There is no cost to attend. All necessary applications are free and web-based (except for Skype which is free, but requires installation). AetherCon is a non-profit event staffed by volunteers. Here's the guide we put together to help get Roll20 GMs started ( it also has an Infrno guide since that is a gametable option for AetherCon ) http://www.mediafire.com/view/fq3d53t852adr7g/Aeth...
I've signed up for a number of games, though was disappointed to see that GM registration was closed already. I'd love to run next year, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Maybe I missed it, but perhaps posting here in advance of GM registration closing would get you more GMs?
the postings mostly came from facebook game groups seeking gms, but your point is very valid. I'm running a few of these here on roll 20. Gamma World, 2e, and Boot Hill.
@ Chris and James - yeah, we had some miscommunication within the AetherCon staff about who was doing what. Our apologies. I'll also take this opportunity to Bump the topic since the event is approaching. www.aethercon.com AetherCon is a free online RPG convention emphasizing a sense of community. RPGs such as Pathfinder, Shadowrun and Call of Cthulhu will be run with many more games available. Free browser based RPG programs, Roll 20 and Infrno, will be used to run the games. Along with the games AetherCon will have panels and Q&A sessions with industry professionals such as jim pinto (Post World Games), G. Earnest Gygax (Gygax Magazine), Mike Mason (Chaosium), Ken Hite (Pelgrane Press), Wes Schnieder (Paizo) and many more. AetherCon will also have a lot of great vendors, such as Paizo and CGL just to name a few, available to sell you some great merchandise and an artist hall in which you can buy original art work and learn art techniques from the artists as well. Plus every Friday, leading up to AetherCon, download exclusive, free wallpapers from these artists as well. You also could win a chance at having one of your favorite PCs immortalized by one the artists on a future exclusive AetherCon wallpaper just by playing! The more you play, the better your chances of winning! AetherCon kicks off on November 15 and runs through November 17 of 2013.
I signed up for Siege of the Diamond City on Warhorn, but I'm not sure how to proceed from there? Do I need to sign up on Roll20 for something else? Wait for an invite? A little guidance is needed for me :)
Sammy, The Pathfinder Society games are a late addition to AetherCon, and are not part of the AetherCon player/game registration system. Please contact whomever is running the Pathfinder Society event - per the Warhorn page: ( https://warhorn.net/events/aethercon-2013-pfs ) there is a link to Email the Organizer, pfsonlinevos@gmail.com Thanks!
