Any Interest in a Battletech Solaris VII League?

I'm thinking about looking to start a Battletech Solaris VII league early next year. I'm thinking a total of 9 players (myself included) playing weekly games for four weeks for the regular season to try it out, with semi-finals and championships following that. Each player would end up playing as referee and player at different times. I have lots of ideas for how to run this, but want to see if there are people who would be down to try it out. I'm imaging a "Stable Manager" type of game wherein the players get a pool of cash, parts and a few busted 'Mechs and has a chance to hire pilots and pick up new equipment each week.

Moved to Looking for Group. I may be interested depending on the format. One question, original Battletech does not require a referee, is there a variant rule in Solaris VII or one of the newer versions of Battletech that requires one? - Gauss
I probably should have specified that I was envisioning using a ref for double-blind play. The idea being the players could whisper move and attack orders to the ref who would then adjudicate the results and update the tabletop. There are specific rules under the current edition for implementing double-blind play (I can't remember if they're in the Tactical or Strategical Operations book off the top of my head), but I'm not trying to settle on anything unilaterally. I'd love to stand up a system that would continue for multiple seasons, which means collaboration with potential players ;)
This sounds pretty awesome ! I've only ever played one game of Battletech before, and I had to stop playing because the people I played with stayed in texas and it wasn't possible after that to play :/ I'd be up for playing depending on the time and day ! Because I do have two other pathfinder sessions that I play :)

Double Blind play was always difficult to pull off because it is boring for the Ref. You may want to play Asynchronously so the Ref does not have to be bored. The drawback of course is that it would slow the games down but it may open up the availability also. - Gauss
Er, asynchronous war gaming? No luck looking that up on Google, can you educate me a bit? My understanding of the term in video games leaves me even more confused about what you mean, but this is why I wanted to discuss how to pull it off in the first place ;)

One definition of Asynchronous Multiplayer games: Turn-based multiplayer gameplay between two or more players that can check in and play their turn when it's convenient. Similar to play-by-mail games and, more electronically, play-by-email or play-by-post forum games. For Battletech with a referee the players would submit orders to the referee. Game play would proceed normally just at a (significantly) slower pace than if it was played in real time. One note: with the new Rugged Reroll Line of Sight system it may be possible that a referee is not required in a double-blind game. - Gauss
I was thinking you meant something PbPish. The hex/movement-counting feature will help with that also, one of the reason I want to plan on starting early next year: to see Rugged implemented.
