Newb ?: Enabling API/Adding script to existing game

Sorry if this should be obvious, but is it ok to enable API and add a script to an existing game, or does the API have to be enabled and scripts loaded at creation?

Yes, you can adding new scripts to an existing game. I did not start messing with the API until I had already started a campaign and got my players hooked.

As a note, API access is a pro level perk so you won't see the options till you upgrade.
