[LFG] Traveller or other space faring game, a la Dark Matter.

My work schedule has changed, and I've been binging shows like Farscape and Dark Matter lately. I love the idea of a group of people thrown together and having to make the best of it. Availability - My regular work shift is from 5 to 10 in the evening, Eastern. I'm available for pretty much any 3 to 5 hour block that doesn't interfere with that. I can adjust my sleep if necessary, so late nights and daytime doesn't bother me. System - Unsure. I'd like risk of death to be low, but still present. Other than that, anything that can handle the basic themes is good. From what I've seen, Traveller seems to be the closest thing out of the box, but I'm hardly an expert on this genre of rpg, so I'm open to suggestions. Format - Voice necessary. I was unable to join a couple games that I was invited to a few weeks ago due to a lack of mic(the internal stooped working). I now have a headset with a mic, so everything should be good now.
Came hoping to hop onto this wagon but it doesn't look like I'd be able to do it unless it's late nights on the weekends. Also, you should check out the show Firefly if you haven't already. I have a feeling you'll love it.

I could join if the session is before your work shift. By the time you come back from work is where my time slot ends, but starts long before you head off. I'm still to have for some Mongoose Traveller 2E and lately Mindjammer - Traveller Edition has also been alluring me, but alas haven't found a group yet. Risk of full on death also is low in mindjammer, it seems as long as your sentient (playable) starship survives, your concsiousness could be stored there. I use Curse or Discord, rather meh on Skype or Text. Right now there is no sheet on roll20 for Mindjammer Traveller but I can change that.
Aaron: Late nights are good for me regardless of the day. I don't know your time zone, so it's possible that your late night falls on my work shift. Otherwise, welcome aboard. Fabian, as long as it ends by/at 4pm Eastern, I'm good. I just need a half hour to get ready and drive to work. I'm not familiar with Mindjammer, but I'm open.

Yeah, the before slot would work then. Mindjammer is a Mongoose Traveller 2 Addon (there is also a Fate Core version) that explores various transhuman themes. Playable options include sentient ships, including ones with android avatars (Seems fitting for your dark matter and farscape reference). It claims also that parts of it can be taken and used with mongtrav 2E if one does not want the whole shebang. There is a free adventure with some of the rules and 4 premade characters here: http://forum.mongoosepublishing.com/viewtopic.php?... Should give you a vague idea. Of course there is also always its website: https://mindjammerpress.com/category/news/
Sorry I should have remembered time zone differences. I'm EST
Fabian: Yeah, Mindjammer sounds neat from what you say. I'll have to wait until after work to check the links, but thanks! Aaron: I'm EST, too. I just put Eastern in the OP because it side steps the whole daylight savings time thing. I go to EDT, but not everyone does. Time is weird.

Doing a D6 space game combing science fiction elements. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/61815/galactic-... Playing on Sunday mornings. 9:15 Eastern.
I'm going to have to put my search on hold. A few hours after I posted the OP, I got told that I was being moved to lunch shift next week, and I'm not sure when that'll change. I thought my work schedule was finally stable enough to know when I could schedule games. I was wrong. I hope the rest of you find games, though.
Hm, personally I'm fairly flexible with my time, so it may still work. But getting a large group together may be difficult, yes.
