Since the wormhole connected the Solar System to the distant system of Waren, the calendar was reset to the N.E. (New Era). Exploration was immediate and a new system was needed to speed up exploration. Utilizing neural harnesses, new humanoid exoarmors became prevalent. The Neural EXoarmors, NEXs, were the next evolution in construction, exploration, maintenance, and even warfare. Jump forward 26 years and the Waren Independent Faction, WIF, has become suspicious and the Joint Earth Confederation deploys a task force to the WIF capital of Contist station to investigate their recent activities. We will be using standard 5e rules, magic is replaced with sci-fi super tech and combat will take place almost exclusively in gundam-style mecha suits in open space, around space stations, or in asteroid fields.
