Summary
So, before we get into it, a little more about me first. I’m an aspiring writer and long time gamer who
has been hooked on DMing for his friends for the past year. I have been told I
am considered as a “friendly” DM as I don’t try to actively kill my players or
ambush them and willingness to forgo rolls if the player can roleplay effectively
when it comes to diplomacy. While I tend to favour the players when it comes to
rolls, I also pride myself on representing the actions of the antagonists accurately
and therefore I have little thought of taking advantage of tactical errors made
by the party. While I am open to (and
encourage) suggestions to my DMing I do not care for those who feel the need to
backseat DM or argue rules. If this applies to you then this may not be the
group for you.
With that done let’s get into the meat of the topic. My
current group has run into some real-life problems and are unable to meet their
bi-weekly adventures so I am now looking for a second group to run parallel for
a long-term campaign. The campaign takes place in my own Science Fiction/Fantasy
setting using D&D 5E rules as a loose framework to base the game around.
Players can expect
focus on their character with emphasis on
character development along with personal story arcs A campaign that is roleplay and combat intensive
Organic moral choices as players decide on the
thin gray line for survival Large amounts of player freedom as players can
forgo the main story arc and forge their own destiny (like becoming a baker)
