insight checks and role play

How do you guys feel about switching to more of a "degrees of success" model for insight and certain other checks (some strength checks, for instance, and various uncontested checks) over the "pass-fail" model? I'm thinking everyone still rolls insight, and I can weigh the main roll and use the advantage roll if you do something smart that changes the situation. And everyone does one single insight roll per NPC interaction. In the event of an interrogation or similar, everyone just rolls right up front. Then the rolls do matter, and anyone who invests in insight proficiency doesn't lose the reward of doing so. But this allows me some freedom to give out valuable information you gain from the interaction even if you don't get the straight truth from someone.
I'm not opposed to the idea.
Sounds great, and maybe if we roll a crit advantage and do something specific in a conversation, like strike a nerve then that crit could help out a bit.
As somebody with insight proficiency, this please me.
