[BUG] Pasting Formatted Tables Stopped Working!

One trick I use to vastly speed up the time it takes to keep my campaign updated is to keep info in spreadsheets outside of Roll20 and then I just copy and paste the formatted tables into Roll20 when I need to update something. For instance, I keep a spreadsheet that has a running total of the treasure that the party has earned during each session as well as any expenses that they have incurred so that they can see at a glance how much gold they have available. Here is what it looks like outside of Roll20: I have a Journal Entry in Roll20 that I update after every session. Here is what it looks like when I copy that table and paste it into the Journal entry: Here is what it usually looks like when I edit the Journal entry and paste the new table into it: Here is what it looks like this morning when I try to paste the new table into it: OMG, NO, NO, NO!!! (That was my original panicked reaction when I first saw what was happening!) The good news is that I have come up with a workaround: I still seem to be able to copy and paste in Safari, it is Chrome that is the problem. Here is the technical info for my setup: I am running Safari 10.0.1 and it works as expected in Safari. Let me know if you need any other information. Thanks in advance! -John

We're aware of this issue. These sorts of problems are due to our current text editor being limited in feature and functionality. We are looking to update it with a completely different built, but it's something that's going to take time to systematically change it across the entire site. The editor is in use where and whenever text entry is used in Roll20 - In-App and the Website, so it's going to require a BIG update. Tables can be very difficult to manage in our current editor. We recommend that if you're using them in a journal, that you try using the editor's table building tool instead of a direct copy and paste.
Got it. It just freaked me out that it worked before and seemingly stopped working. I have a workaround for the time being, so I can muddle along. Good luck with the text editor update! It sounds like it is going to be a real challenge (or chore, depending on your outlook)!
