Looking For Players: Danganronpa – A Mutual Killing Game!

About the Game: For those that are not familiar with the already existing PS Vita and recent PC game series, Danganronpa is a murder mystery game where 16 students who attend Hope’s Peak Academy (a High School that scouts for students who are the Ultimate in a certain field, be it programming, a sport, a detective, or whatever you can think of) are thrust into a world of dying hope and unmatched despair! In the games, the students wake up in the school, with a small case of amnesia, unable to remember anything before arriving on their first day at Hope’s Peak. They then quickly find themselves completely locked inside with no way out, until they meet their new headmaster, Monokuma! This delightful bundle of despair quickly tells them the only way out is to participate in a mutual killing game. If someone kills another they become the Blackened and must outwit their peers in a class trial after an investigation of the murder takes place. If the Blackened is successful and isn’t found out, they get to leave while the rest of the class must suffer ‘punishment’, effectively ending their lives and the entire game! If the Blackened is found out, they are the ones punished, and the rest get to live and hope they don’t become the next victim themselves! I am looking for 4 more players to join us on this adventure! There will be 8 players in total, and each player is to create and play two characters, each with their own unique backstories and ultimates! *Monokuma Game Setting: Normally the games take place within a school setting, but, following in the shoes of the second game, my game is going for a more outdoor setting. The Famous MonoZoo! A top of the line tourist attraction where everyone’s favorite Monobeasts are held to gawk at. Truly a trip worth dying for! Game system: For this game, I will be using a highly-modified version of the Storytellers system from New World of Darkness. Do not worry about learning this system beforehand, as everything will be taught to everyone before we begin to play. Playtime & Timezones: We will be starting the game hopefully on March 3rd if we can find enough players in time. This means we will be playing on Fridays and the games will run from 11PM Eastern Standard Time until 2/3 am EST. IMPORTANT INFORMATION! While knowledge of the Danganronpa series isn’t required, it certainly is appreciated! – Even if you’ve never played the games before, you still might have a chance of joining us if your application and interview go over well! We do ask that you at least learn about the series before the game begins. There is a wiki dedicated completely to the game series, and hundreds of youtube playthroughs on all the games! (Do not spoil V3 though if you’ve watched or played it, plz.) Roleplay is our top priority! – This is a character focused game! While this is a game about killing one another in cunning and brutal ways, we will not tolerate those who would rather roll dice and not get into character. What makes these games so amazing is the level of depth each character has behind them and how well each player gets into the mindset of their character. You will be expected to inherit two full personas while playing this game, and doing your best to get into their mindset. Player maturity is also a must! We will not tolerate those who cannot handle the situations maturely or try to start fights with other players simply because their character was killed! Players must have at least one male and one female character! – To keep things even within the game, players should plan to make a character of each sex. It is possible to trade with other players, though. If say, you wish to play two female characters, and someone else wishes to play two males. This will be a text focused game, with OOC voice discussions! – Due to the above rule, and the fact that I cannot do a good Monokuma voice, the game will be entirely text based, but we will also be using Discord for out of character discussions while the game is in session. How Do I join? Just fill out the application below and PM it to me on Roll20. If your application is up to the standard, you will then be interviewed via Skype as the second phase of the application process. Expect to be asked a series of questions during the interview that require some critical thinking! After this, you will be informed within 24 hours if you are selected to join the game. Please note: Please be as descriptive as you can! The more detail you put in, the more you’ll stand out from the rest! And please note that unless specified, we are asking for your real-life information, not that of your character. Thank you! Application: Name: Age: Player Motivation: (This means what style you as an Roleplayer distinguish yourself as. I will leave information about Player Motivation below this form. Please read that before answering!) What does a character focused game mean to you? How familiar are you with Danganronpa? What types of Roleplay are you familiar with? (e.g table-top, L.A.R.P., online gaming, private server RP, etc.) What, if any, lines do you draw when it comes to roleplay? Do things such as sex, rape, kink, and other such subjects bother you, even when handled maturely? (Be honest, even if you say yes to all of these, this is just to know the players limits on such things. You will not be automatically denied.) What are your wants and desires out of this campaign? In case of scenes with mechanics: are players allowed to talk and give advice when someone Is making a decision during a scene? How many hours would you like to play in a single session? How long would you like this campaign to go on for/how long can you commit to it? Any Additional information you’d like to address? Questions, comments? Player Motivation: Player Motivation refers to what type of gamer are you - and what you seek out of games. Many people strongly identify in multiple categories, but usually feel closest to a particular motivation The Power Gamer: Get more powers and use them often and efficiently. The Butt-Kicker: Enjoys combat and destroying NPCs! The Tactician: Likes to beat complex situations through thought and planning. The Specialist: The one who always plays a <insert character type>. Ninjas and Dritzz clones are popular. The Method Actor: Likes total immersion in a character’s assumed persona, whatever the costs! The Storyteller: Enjoys exploring a story unfold around a character’s actions and choices. The Watcher/Lurker: Shows up to be with friends and share the social energies of the group without necessarily being motivated by the usual incentives. The Instigator: Likes to make things happen and trigger awkward situations The Outlier: Seeking the emotional kick of subverting a group’s dynamic by creating weird characters or actively seeking failure. Thank you to all of those interested, and if you have any questions, please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible!
Name: Andrew Age: 23 Player Motivation: For me being to play in an RP means being able to explore various options & mindsets of our characters & see the consequences of the actions we choose to take. I would definitely consider myself a tactician according to the following list but there are times I just like to see how things play out. What does a character focused game mean to you? With a game like DR, I think one of the best parts about all the students being Ultimates at what they do is that it led to a wide range of interesting & unique characters that you couldn’t help but immersed in when you played the game which made all the deaths simply that much more dramatic. As for players in a tabletop version game I think this means that we need to try to have our characters feel alive when it comes to playing them, sitting around doing nothing isn’t what the whole idea of the school is supposed to be about. How familiar are you with Danganronpa? I’ve watched all the animes & played all the games. What types of Roleplay are you familiar with? Been GMing on Roll20 for the last 4-5 years, I actually run my own game very similar to this one. I have played multiple rpgs across several systems that Iwouldn’t be able to remember all of them. I’ve also done chat & forum RPGs on other sites. What, if any, lines do you draw when it comes to roleplay? Do things such as sex, rape, kink, and other such subjects bother you, even when handled maturely? I would prefer it kept strictly in context if it absolutely has to happen & only then if it is unavoidable, I would really prefer to keep harsher theme out of the game if possible. If a player created a character for the sole reason of any of that then I’d prefer to not to be involved with the game. I don’t want to play to serve someone’s weirdness. What are your wants and desires out of this campaign? I want to see creativity in both the murders & investigation where we’re taxed to figure out the truth, I want to see an interesting cast of characters that while not killing each other are interesting to engage with. I’d like all the players to be able to have fun with each other as well without anyone trying to outdo everyone else. In case of scenes with mechanics: are players allowed to talk and give advice when someone Is making a decision during a scene? Meta-gaming is a big no, especially in a game like this where the idea of decisions & autonomy are crucial to how people act. If its pointing out something really obvious then thats a noteable exception but otherwise players should be able to figure out their options on their own. How many hours would you like to play in a single session? 4 hours How long would you like this campaign to go on for/how long can you commit to it? Can commit for as long as needed since I don’t have class on Friday for the next full year. Any Additional information you’d like to address? Questions, comments? None, thank you for your time.

So just posting a small bump and letting everyone know that only 2 positions are left in the game! The applications are flowing in nicely, so if you want to try and land a spot in the game, don't hesitate to send in an application! Also, if anyone can't join because of the Friday timeslot, here is another Danganronpa game being run on Sundays at an earlier time! Click me!
We have one spot left!
Sounds. Interesting, good luck with that
You've said in game would be text only, if I can only do text inly in OOC as well would that be too much of an issue?
As long as you're in the voice channel to hear certain commands, it shouldn't be an issue.
